Our clients practice was established over 100 years ago as a mixed practice in Market Drayton. They are now looking for a Small Animal Vet to join the team.
They now have two sites – the original in this busy market town and a sister practice in the neighbouring town of Newport, Shropshire. Both buildings are purpose built and house a friendly team with a family feel. There are well equipped consulting rooms, 2 operating theatres at each site, imaging suite with xray ultrasound and endoscopy, laparoscopic bitch spay equipment, Tonopen and dental facilities. There are full time equivalent of 6 vets, made up of full and part time team members and 7 RVNs plus excellent student nurses from Harper Keele University. The vets and nurses are supported by an experienced and amazing reception team. The veterinary team holds certificates in Feline Medicine, Small Animal Medicine, Surgery, Nutrition and Cardiology currently in progress. They clinic is cat friendly and work hard to ensure that patients feel as comfortable as possible, even if that means consulting in the carpark or waiting room. Many of the clients are long standing and they work hard to foster great relationships with them.
North Shropshire has the advantage of being rural and beautiful, perfect for dog walking, horse riding, wild water swimming, mountain biking etc, whilst being within easy access of Birmingham, Manchester and Liverpool, for night life, shopping, concerts and airports. The larger city of Chester and town of Shrewsbury are also an easy commute.
The role comprises surgical and medical duties on a daily basis. The dynamic team already includes several certificate holders and any new team member' interests would be encouraged and supported.
The full time shift pattern would be 4 week days 8:30am – 6:30pm, a share in the inpatient care rota (emergency cover outsourced to Vetsnow) and 2 in 6 Saturday mornings 8:30am - 12pm. The client would be happy to discuss and support flexible working. They offer support to all vets, the ideal candidate for the current role would be experienced to balance the team. Certificate holder not essential but welcomed, confident and competent in independent consulting and routine surgery such as bitch spays.
The successful candidate will be welcomed, well supported where necessary but also given clinical freedom. This is a progressive and collaborative practice who strive to keep looking forward with high standards and a client focus.
