Our client has a main hospital and three branch surgeries in and around the Suffolk town of Ipswich. They are now looking for an Experienced Small Animal Vet to join them.

The group is located close to the beautiful Suffolk countryside and nearby beaches, with good transport links to London, Cambridge and Norwich. The Tier-3 hospital provides an excellent consult, theatre and hospitalisation setting in a purpose-built site. The branch sites are consulting only. The hospital has designated canine, feline, and isolation wards, a large prep room, two operating theatres, as well as a dental suite and imaging room. The equipment includes a video laparoscope, endoscope, ultrasound, digital radiography, digital dental radiography, and IDEXX in-house laboratory equipment.

There are 10 Veterinary Surgeons, 7 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 2 Student Veterinary Nurses, 2 Animal Care Assistants, 2 Practice Managers, 1 Reception Manager, 1 Head Receptionist, and 9 Receptionists. Within the Vets there are 3 certificate holders (medicine and surgery), with 2 Vets currently undertaking certificate qualifications (medicine and dentistry). 4 of the Nurses are currently studying for certificates also (medicine, surgery, ECC, and dentistry). As a practice, they get involved in community events every year such as fun days, school careers fairs, and educational visits.

The role which consists of a mixture of consulting and operating time. Some consulting may be at one of the branch sites, so you must be able to drive. The successful candidate will also attend clinical team meetings, clinical governance meetings and other projects to support the business. Most of the Veterinary Surgeons work 4 x 10-hour days, but the client understands that this doesn't suit everyone, so they are more than happy to discuss working patterns to suit your individual needs. This role would involve a 1 in 5 Saturday morning rota. This is only to consult for emergencies and not routine consulting. The clinic is a VetsNow host practice, so there will be no out-of-hour shifts required. The client strongly believe in creating a good work-life balance, so we are happy to discuss part-time work.

They are open to applications for a candidate with any level of experience, as for them it is more about the candidate than the level of experience that they can bring the team. Less experienced candidates would be fully supported by a very experienced team. The candidate must have a valid Veterinary degree and be registered with the RVCS. A valid UK driving license is preferable but not essential. The practice is happy to support VISAs and VISA applications.

It is not necessary for that candidate to be a certificate holder, or even have a desire to complete a certificate. They would just like a colleague who loves what they do and provides great clinical care. If the candidate would like to study for a certificate, then this would be fully funded and encouraged.

Salary for this position is up to £75k pa DOE, and there's a bonus up to £7.5k FTE and a £1k relocation allowance if required.
