    This client are an established Mixed Animal practice with various branches across Mid Ulster. They pride themselves on delivery of excellent animal health services. The role will include a flexible mix of clinical work with dairy, beef, and sheep herds covering all veterinary requirements for beef and dairy herds and sheep flocks, including Reproduction – Fertility, and Scanning, Health Plans, Disease Investigation, And much more along with First Opinion small animal consultations and a great variety of surgical and medical cases including orthopaedics.

    You will be given clinical freedom and an opportunity to develop your own client base. The team also have a team of highly experienced Vets with various levels of special interests, fully equipped with state-of-the-art technology and offering 24hr services 365 days per year.

    You must be enthusiastic, motivated, have good communication skills and be prepared to work as part of a team.
    Experience is preferred but not essential as new graduates will be well supported through the teams Graduate Programme if necessary.

    The current team of 3 vets, 2 RVN's and 2 Receptionists see a wide variety of interesting SA and LA cases. They have all the usual SA equipment such as - in house lab, digital x-ray, ultrasound & dental station etc.

    The ideal candidate would have a bias towards Small Animal (clinical and surgical) but still be confident and competent to cover the OOH mixed rota.
    This is a full time role with a 1 in 4 OOH rota, with a small radius of cover and a 6pm finish Monday to Friday.

    The successful candidate can enjoy an attractive salary in line with experience and the excellent backup and support from the whole team.

    This position is full time, but consideration would also be given for a job share or part time role for the right candidate. Weekends and Bank Holidays are worked on a 1:7 rota basis between the hours of 8.30am-4pm. All OOH is covered by Vets Now.

    You will be required to cover a share of the equine OOH on a rota basis but the small animal OOH is covered by Vets Now.

This has led to a GP Cert AVP in Small Animal Medicine, as well as Physiotherapy and Behaviour, Emergency Critical Care, and Dental Surgery.
    The team also play an active part in the local community, sponsoring events like the local children's carnival, providing support on interview techniques for school leavers and giving talks with local charity groups.


    As part of a 5 vet team and with the support of the 7 fully qualified nurses, you will be expected to deliver a mixture of 15 minutes consults or undertake surgical procedures as a part of mixed diary layout. Non-surgical days consist of a wide range of first opinion appointments, with an emphasis on case work up using in house diagnostic facilities. Fully equipped operating theatre and dental suite mean surgeries are undertaken every day and are performed at a high standard.

    This is a full time position working 4 days per week 8.30am - 6.30pm. OOH rota is 1:10 weeknights and weekends.

    This position would suit an ambitious candidate with a surgical bias and a view to future business development. They are keen to develop and hone a future Clinical Director if at all possible by providing all the relevant support, training and mentoring needed to take this next step in your career. An active interest in the day-to day running of the business would be essential and in return an exciting journey into running your own practice alongside 4 other Clinical Directors is on offer.

    This fantastic independent client in the picturesque town of Northallerton, North Yorkshire, would like to welcome another veterinary surgeon into their mixed practice.

    This friendly, progressive, rural mixed practice has been established for almost 20 years and continues to grow rapidly.
    The client offers a genuine mixed caseload of 50% small animals and 50% farm and equine.

    The farm work consists mainly of large commercial beef and sheep farms, and a good number of smallholders. This combination allows you to quickly develop excellent skills dealing with lambings and calvings, caesareans, blood sampling and prolapses without being bored on routine dairy visits every morning.
    There are also opportunities to become involved in flock health planning and high health schemes if this would be your area of interest. There is no TB testing as the team have their very own ATT.
    The equine work is a combination of leisure and sport horses. Dentals, castrates, pre-purchase examinations, colic and lameness work ups are very common and you will soon become competent in all of these under the guidance of the other vets.

    The team have lots of equipment for medical workups to a high standard including X-ray, ultrasound, blood machines, laproscopes and endoscopes. They perform a significant amount of advanced surgeries in-house, including most orthopaedic and soft tissue surgeries such as advanced fracture repair, TPLOs, patellar luxation repair, TECAs.

    The team provide their own OOH which is always supported by the Head Vet who has over 20 years of experience.

    This is a full time permanent position over 4 days per week which allows you plenty of time to become involved in all North Yorkshire has to offer. With 1 night a week on the OOH rota and 1 in 3 weekends.

    Our client in the rural town of Market Drayton are looking for an experienced Large Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join their team on a permanent basis.
    There has been a vet on this site for over 100 years and the practice still have a collection of some of the old equipment and medicines that were used “in the old days”, as one of their retired partners whips them out for a gory display on open days!
    This is a great location based on the Shropshire/Cheshire/Staffordshire border with easy access to the M6 and approximately 1 hour from Manchester and Birmingham.

    As a practice the team are utilizing all of the usual software and equipment (Interherd, Total Vet, Easiscan, EEJ) they have a full in-house lab (culture, microscopy, biochemistry) and aim to provide a bespoke, professional service to all their progressive, friendly farm clients. Combined with the small animal practice this is a friendly, supportive and sociable team who enjoy each other’s company in and out of work.

    Currently a five vet farm team looking to increase to 6 in September with the addition of a new graduate vet, these vets are supported by 3 admin/reception assistants. The vet team is led by the Clinical Director (a dairy farms son) who has a wealth of experience and is supported by other committed and experienced farm vets.

    This client also has a small animal practice based over 2 sites and a first opinion horse practice. Together they employ 38 people across the 3 disciplines with various degrees of experience and training and are always happy to support any relevant CPD.

    Having been established for over 100 years the practice has a long and deep connection with the area, they enjoy interacting on all levels with their clients and their stand is a regular and popular attraction at the local agricultural show.

    The Role
    A normal day would include fertility visits, generally in the morning, but sometimes later in the day. Farm visits for herd health planning etc. and of course the daily calls to sick or injured animals, calving’s, lambing’s etc.
    They have 2 full time TB testers but vets do take on some testing or pre movement tests within the course of their day. This is a first opinion horse practice and some of the large animal vets enjoy the variety of a horse call. All office staff are very experienced, knowledgeable and supportive, with a great ability to organise the daily diary in the most effective manner, whilst keeping the biscuit tin well stocked!

    Applicant Requirements
    The team are looking a farm vet to complete their supportive and progressive team. Although they are looking for a full-time vet, consideration would be given to flexibility to allow the right candidate the opportunity to achieve a work life balance that allows them to excel at work whilst enjoying family life. Experience is preferred, but they do have an encouraging team who are happy to support development, their primary concern is finding the right applicant.

    This is a practice who pride themselves on the building of relationships with the local community, providing an outstanding clinical service within a friendly and supportive working environment.

    The right candidate will be someone who is passionate about farm practice and its progression, enjoys working as part of a team but is also able to work with their own initiative. An interest in some equine work would be welcome but not essential.
