After a ten-year career with department store group, House of Fraser I made the transition to the veterinary business back in 2005. Working as Partner Recruitment Manager for Vets4Pets, I was solely responsible for recruiting new vets to open new practices. Between 2005 and 2010 I helped the group double in size. Motivated by the success of the vets I’ve worked with and the management team at Vets4Pets I took the leap to realise my dream of running my own business. Our relationship was great and to this day I still carry out work for people I first met over a decade ago.

Our client on the Scottish borders have a vacancy for a mixed animal vet to join their, large experience team to work in a truly mixed fashion.

As we all know, genuinely mixed animal vet vacancies are becoming few and far between, so vacancies for mixed vets are even less common.

This role would suit a vet who is interested in all areas of the work and relishes in the fact that no day is ever the same and wants to continue with the exceptional service the existing team have been offering for year.

Unlike most mixed animal roles with very arduous working patterns, this client offer a 4.5 day week, only one night per week on call and only 1 weekend in 5 worked. After which the following Monday is taken as a day off.

Practice interest include ophthalmology, orthopaedices and complex small animal surgeries. They are fantastically equipped across, small, farm and equine and they have an exceptional reputation. They are happy to help develop specialisms in any area and will support certificates if required.

Given they are on the borders, it is easy to enjoy rural living while being only a short drive to big cities such as Newcastle, Edinburgh and Glasgow

With regards to package, salary up-to 55,000, 33 days holiday including bank holidays, 1500 cpd with an additional 5 days to study.
Our client have a vacancy for a vet with enough experience to handle some small animal surgeries and medical cases unassisted. The likelihood is candidates will have 12 or more months experience.

The successful candidate will work along the partner in the practice who has nearly 20 years experience in the practice.

As the practice has been serving the local community for so long, they have an excellent local reputation and have a very loyal client base. They are well equipped to proved an excellent, first opinion service.

This could be a park time role or a full time role. For part time work, shifts could finish at 3 pm over 3 to 5 days so could suit careers of young children, or people with additional evening commitments.

Full time work would be based on a 4 day week.

As share of Saturadays would be required for both full and part time applicants.

The practice is situated in the beautiful Seaside Village on the North West Norfolk coast. This well-equipped with digital x-rays, dental facilities, in-house laboratory, ultrasound, etc. and much more!

Our client is looking for enthusiastic veterinary surgeon, keen to join a clos-knit team and to be part of driving this practice to the next level. Candidates must have a client-oriented approach and excellent communication skills, work to a very high standard both medically and surgically and have the drive and ambition to help develop this practice further. Salary package up to 52k depending on experience, to include:

Our Liverpool based client are looking for an additional veterinary surgeon to join their large hospital. They have a large team of very capable surgically based vets so are looking to compliment them with a veterinary surgeon to on a purely consult/in-patient care basis.

As they have a large team, there is no requirement for sole charge work so they can be very flexible over experience levels. There is a requirement though that applicants will have 12 months or more experience, enough to ensure they have had some good exposure. There are always plenty of experienced vets around to share best practice and knowledge.

This well equipped hospital operate with 15 minute consults and give all their vets guaranteed admin time every day. They also allocate, on a daily basis "emergency slots" for walk in emergencies. This stops the practice being overwhelmed with emergencies to detriment of routine appointments.

This role, for full time is 4 days per week with 1:6 weekends. However, part time application can be considered.

Our client will pay a salary up to 63,000, offer 5 weeks holiday, CPD upto certificate level and a host of additional benefits.

This role would suit a veterinary surgeon who is looking for a role where they will be a key part of not only the practice but also the community. This is the only local practice so is the go to place for most cases locally. it is a well equipped first opinion practice with good access to a local referral hospital if required. In house they have radiography, ultrasound, full lab etc. As the second vet you will play a pivotal role in the practice being involved in surgeries daily, working up your own caseloads. There will be occasions of sole charge, so vets need to be confident in their own clinical judgments. That said, telephone support will always be available if less experienced vets are working sole charge.

This practice operate a 4 day week with 1/6 weekends.

Package includes and exceptional salary, dependent upon experience 40,000 upwards for vets with 12 months experience, CPD upto certificate level, professional fees paid.

Our client have a small group of practices in the South West London area. They have a team of 12 vets and a large team of nursing and support staff across their 3 practices. Vets tend to work in single sites.

All practices are well equipped with digital ultrasound, dopler ultrasound, dental x-ray, endoscopes, K-Laser, laparoscopic equipment and full in house labs.

The vets work a 4 day week with shifts ending at either 5.30 or 7.30 with 1 in 3 Saturdays. Sundays are only 1 in 9. There are no OOH's.

As well as a salary up to 45k, our client offer 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, certificate funding and generous CPD and professional fees paid.
