After a ten-year career with department store group, House of Fraser I made the transition to the veterinary business back in 2005. Working as Partner Recruitment Manager for Vets4Pets, I was solely responsible for recruiting new vets to open new practices. Between 2005 and 2010 I helped the group double in size. Motivated by the success of the vets I’ve worked with and the management team at Vets4Pets I took the leap to realise my dream of running my own business. Our relationship was great and to this day I still carry out work for people I first met over a decade ago.

Our West Yorkshire based client require an experienced small animal veterinary surgeon to join their team in a lead vet capacity.

There will be some sole charge in this role, working with a small team of nurses and support staff. Therefore the successful candidate will be happy with most routine oft tissue surgical cases and medical work ups. It is expected that the successful candidate will have around 3 years experience. Ideally, candidates will be looking to complete a medical based or surgical certificate.

The practice is a well equipped small animal, first opinion branch with 3 consult rooms, digital X-Ray, ultrasound, full labs etc.

This role will suit a vet looking to expand their experience into business management and well as clinical excellence. It is a gateway to larger scope management roles or partnerships in the future.

The rota is a 4 day week with 1 in 3 weekends. 39 hours per week.

An exceptional package of upto 70k will be offered and a vehicle is available if required.

Our client in Shropshire have a vacancy for a part time veterinary surgeon to join their team. They can be very flexible over days and hours but the role will be ideally around 30 hours and will involve 1/3 Saturdays.

The role is primarily small charge with a qualified RVN always there to support. As such, all applicants must be happy with routine soft tissue surgeries as well as being happy to work up their own medical cases.

Routine procedures happen at the the host practice and more complex procedures take place at a sister site. The successful candidate is welcome to carry out the procedures there.

Our client in South Yorkshire are about to launch their brand new Tier 3 hospital. To assist with the launch our recruiting an additional registered veterinary nurse.

This will be a full time role with a share of weekends. There are no OOH's as a dedicated team will offer that service.

The practice will be very well equipped and will include:
  • DR radiography,
  • ultrasound with colour doppler,
  • flexible endoscopy,
  • 2 operating theatres,
  • electosurgery ,
  • capnography,
  • piped oxygen,
  • syringe pumps,
  • infusion pumps, etc
The veterinary team includes surgical certificate holders so there will be lots of opportunities to get involved in complex surgeries.

Locum Ongoing.

Full time, four or five ya week
Weekends 1/4
OOH's until 10pm
Accomodation and Car (manual) available.

Due to two of their experienced vets relocating, our independent client in North Yorkshire has two opportunities for experienced mixed vets to join them.

One of the roles would suit someone with a keen interest in Dairy. All vets have to be comfortable with enough small animal work to allow them to cover the OOH's and work a minimum of 10% smalls.

The other would suit someone looking to do 50/50 small and farm. There is only a small amount of equine required with this practice.

his is a very well equipped hospital with radiography, ECG, ultrasound, full in house labs etc. They offer a full farm service and offer routine work for Horses, ponies and donkeys.

The Out of hours is done on a 1 in 10 basis 2nd on call and 1 in 10 1st on call so there is some requirement every 5 days.

As our client have just recruited two new graduates, applications form 2020 graduates cannot be considered at this stage.

Our South Wales client have a vacancy for a small animal veterinary surgeon.

The successful candidate will work between two branches on a regular basis and will have access to a huge array of equipment, including;

  • CT scanner
  • Digital X-Ray
  • Dental X-Ray
  • Endoscopy
  • Keyhole surgery

The practice has a very varied caseload including exotics referrals, medical referrals as well as inhouse orthopaedic and complex soft tissue work.

There are no OOH's with this role. and full time vets work a 36 hour 4 day week.

Salary scope is in the region of 32-48,000 depending upon experience.
