I joined Bright Leaf Recruitment in March 2015 and looked after the Locum bookings for the first 2 years before moving over to permanent recruitment in April 2017. I still look after locum bookings but focus most of my time on permanent placements now. I thoroughly enjoy speaking with candidates and clients and helping them to find their ideal match in the veterinary industry.

Outside of work my 2 young daughters and husband keep me busy and when we’re not running the girls to swimming lessons or gymnastic clubs we enjoy family days out and weekends away.

Myself and my husband also like to get involved in charity events for our local Hospice and as the girls get older they also want to get more involved in events such as the annual Colour Run and Midnight Walk.  

I currently work part time (Mon-Fri 9-1pm) whilst my daughters are at school, however as they get older and more independent, I hope to increase my working hours as it’s such a rewarding job and a fantastic place to work.

This lovely client are looking for an enthusiastic full time Veterinary Surgeon to join their friendly small animal practice on the Kent / Surrey border.

You will be joining a great team of 2 Receptionists, 4 RVNs, 2 Vets and a Practice Manager in this modern, well equipped, air conditioned practice set in beautiful countryside, yet only an hour from London / 1 minute from the M25.

This is a full-time role, working 40 hour week over 4 full days (Thursdays off) and one Saturday morning in 3 but there are no other OOH's allowing for a good work-life balance.

In return our client offers a very competitive package including:

Our client has an exciting opportunity for a Veterinary physiotherapist to join them in the Animal Rehabilitation Centre (ARC)offering primary care and referral orthopaedic services to South Lakes and beyond.

The team work in a state of art facility equipped to a high standard with laser, ultrasound, TENS, and EMS machines alongside a Tudor underwater treadmill and Companion Stance Analyzer. Therapies on offer also include therapeutic massage, acupuncture, musculoskeletal ultrasound, and they are now offering their patients regenerative medicine (platelet rich plasma and stem cell therapy) by intra-articular injection. All cases then feed into the ARC for a complete rehab programme.

You will work alongside a Veterinary Surgeon qualified in canine rehabilitation therapy, acupuncture, chronic pain management, and clinical canine massage therapy. Our other valued team member is an experienced level 4 hydrotherapy and laser therapist, and you will have the support of an 8 Vet practice.

The ARC offers physiotherapy services to all in-house patients as well as an expanding referral service from local practices. Orthopaedic surgery is also performed at the main surgery and a visiting orthopaedic Surgeon allows more complex surgeries to be done in house too.

The ideal candidate will have the enthusiasm, energy, and positive attitude to help the team grow and for the ARC to fulfill its potential. You will need good communication skills both with other team members and clients, be organised within the workplace, keen to participate in the marketing and promotion of the practice services and bring your own personality to the mix.

Membership of NARCH or CHA is advantageous but not essential.

The team of Vets all have different strengths and specialities with a few certificate holders and form a great team that offers a fantastic first opinion service to the teams growing clientele. Both practices are well equipped with digital x-ray, ultrasound, and laboratory at each site plus extra toys such as endoscope, tonometer, doppler blood pressure, and a range of orthopaedic instruments at the larger site near Hull.
The team see a wide and varied caseload at both sites and treat animals of all shapes and sizes making each day an interesting and varied one.
Training and mentoring are very important to the team and all career aspirations are actively encouraged and supported. The are also a Veterinary Nurse training practice and have a VetGDP adviser and love to support new colleagues at the start of their careers.

This is a full-time position of up to 40 hours per week plus 1:8 weekends, although the team are more than happy to discuss part-time hours and flexible working as they understand the importance of a good work / life balance.
There is no OOH for their small animal work either as this is covered by Vets Now. The teams main goal is to provide an enjoyable working environment with the perfect work / life balance that everyone deserves whilst providing an outstanding service to all patients and their owners. The happiness and wellbeing of the team is the key factor to a successful practice, and this team are always working on ways to continue to improve this.

Salary is dependent upon experience plus you will receive
5 weeks paid holiday plus Bank Holidays with the option to buy and sell holidays.
5 days CPD leave guaranteed but not limited
1750 CPD allowance per annum although this is not limited as certificates are encouraged and supported
RCVS membership and 2 other professional membership fees of your choice paid
VDS cover

This client are looking for Vets to ideally work full time, 40 hours over 5 days; Monday to Friday 9am – 2pm, then 4pm – 7pm but are more than happy to discuss any working pattern at this stage in their recruitment process.
There are no weekends or OOH's with this role and these are covered by their own out of hours clinic.

The ideal candidates will be RCVS registered with previous experience, ideally in a similar small animal practice setting. You must put patient welfare at the forefront of what you do and be able to perform imaging tests, laboratory tests, routine surgery, prescribe medicines and diagnose illness with confidence and competence.

The team can offer temporary accommodation for anyone looking to relocate to the area.

The starting salary is dependent upon experience and hours worked and will be discussed at interview.

We have an opportunity for a nursing assistant with veterinary experience for a night nurse role in West Yorkshire.

This fantastic independent client are looking for a permanent Night Nurse to join their expanding team.
You will be joining a large team, with 4 Night RVNs, in a purpose built surgery. The friendly and experienced team have access to a modern range of diagnostic and surgical facilities.

You will need to have some experience in the veterinary industry and will be required to work 7 nights on and 7 nights off, either 7pm-7am or 6pm-6am. You will always be working with another nurse and the on call vet, so no sole charge night work. There may also be some requirement for reception/client work during these out of hours.

Hourly rate depending on level of experience.

Our client in Lancashire are looking for an enthusiastic, ambitious Equine Veterinary Surgeon to join their busy first opinion 9 Vet team.

This is an RCVS accredited practice with well-equipped facilities including DR radiography, laser, gastroscope, 5 ultrasound scanners and motorised dental equipment in each vehicle. Our current team is experienced, incredibly supportive, and friendly, creating an excellent team in a collaborative environment.

The team would like someone with experience but can consider a knowledgeable recent graduate who has good practical skills. An interest in Medicine, Surgery or stud work would be advantageous and your own further development will be supported, and special interests encouraged. The role will be both ambulatory and clinic based and you must be RCVS registered and eligible to work in the UK.

Salary will be dependent on experience, 1 in 6/8 out of hours rota, 25 days holiday plus Bank Holidays, opportunity to buy and sell holidays, enhanced sick, maternity, and paternity pay, excellent CPD allowance, and a private healthcare lan provided.
