Steph Ward

Recruitment Consultant Phone: 01422 433900 Email: [email protected]

I joined Bright Leaf Recruitment in March 2015 and looked after the Locum bookings for the first 2 years before moving over to permanent recruitment in April 2017. I still look after locum bookings but focus most of my time on permanent placements now. I thoroughly enjoy speaking with candidates and clients and helping them to find their ideal match in the veterinary industry.

Outside of work my 2 young daughters and husband keep me busy and when we’re not running the girls to swimming lessons or gymnastic clubs we enjoy family days out and weekends away.

Myself and my husband also like to get involved in charity events for our local Hospice and as the girls get older they also want to get more involved in events such as the annual Colour Run and Midnight Walk.

I currently work part time (Mon-Fri 9-1pm) whilst my daughters are at school, however as they get older and more independent, I hope to increase my working hours as it’s such a rewarding job and a fantastic place to work.

All Steph's jobs...

Our client on the outskirts of Yeovil are looking for an experienced vet (or vets) to add to their existing small animal team at their practice close to the M5 and A303

The team work between two branches, the main surgery and the branch surgery, both within easy reach due to good road links.

The position can be adapted to suit your needs in both location and hours; to fit around your life outside work. There will be some sole charge and you will need to be confident in both routine and emergency work but they are in the process of transferring all of their OOH work to an OOH provider so there will be no on-call.

The team will still maintain care of their inpatients on a case by case basis, those with more intensive needs can be transferred for ongoing night care.
The weekend and night rota for inpatient care will be 1:4. This rota will include a Saturday morning surgery and attention to inpatients as required.
They often have no inpatients so, many weekends and evenings will be work free.

The nursing team is made up of 4 RVN's and 2 SVN's. There is always a nurse available to help with inpatients. The role will be a mixture of consulting and surgery, any interests you have will be supported and would fully encourage a certificate in your chosen area.

Consults are 15 minutes, the last of the day booked 45 minutes before they close at 6.30pm, meaning they are rarely late leaving.

A competetive salary is on offer, in line with experience and hours worked. Holiday allowance will be 20 days pro rata + bank holidays.

If this role sounds of interest please email your CV through to [email protected] or give me a call on 01422 433900.
