Our independent client are looking for an experienced SA Vet to join their team in their brand new, purpose built practice near Dudley in the West Midlands.
Already an established and growing business they are seeking an assistant Vet who, alongside the Clinical Director, will look after the clinical needs of this new venture and will help the existing team to build the caseload with old and new clients in this new location, close to Birmingham. The practice will be fully equipped with brand new cutting edge facilities including digital and dental X-Rays etc.
The ideal candidate will be a capable and confident vet, able to work autonomously, and ideally have past experience managing a team or be happy to lead by example.
The team can consider full or part-time applications for this role with a share of the Saturday morning rota (8.30am -1pm), currently 1 in 2 weekends.
There are no OOH’s with this role.
Salary is negotiable depending upon experience between 38k-60k

Our client has state of the art facilities which include CT, Video Endoscopy, Ultrasound and much more. They are now looking for a Full Time Night Vet to join them.
The clinic is located close to Birmingham town centre but only a short drive to the countryside meaning you can have the best of both worlds. The night team consists of 3 vets, 3 nurses and 2 Auxiliaries who work on rotation. Although the successful candidate will be working in sole charge, they do have excellent working relations with other local out of hours services so other vets who are awake are always available for advice if needed. Across the wider team, there are 25 vets which include a diploma holder and multiple certificate holders in a variety of areas. They have a team of 23 nurses as well as Veterinary Auxiliaries, Receptionists and Admin staff. Although they have a large team the staff all work closely together and offer a very supportive and enjoyable environment to work in. The team is dedicated to providing a high level of patient care. They care about the team’s well-being and have changed the rota to allow for a better work/life balance. This has created a night role vacancy in the team, with a shift pattern of 7 nights Monday-Sunday, followed by 14 nights off. There is also the opportunity to pick up some day shifts on your days off if you wish. Salary for this role is up to 60,000 FTE depending on experience.
The successful candidate will work alongside the longstanding team of Registered Veterinary Nurse and a Veterinary Auxiliary, providing out of hours cover for the nearby branches and a small charity.
No previous Night experience required. The ideal candidate will be a dedicated vet who is looking for something new, you will be competent in dealing with ECC cases and put animal care at the heart of everything you do. The client is passionate about developing their staff and are more than happy to provide support and training for someone willing to learn.

The practice has great links to public transport and excellent rail access to anywhere in the UK. The surgery is fully equipped with all the usual toys including an in-house Laboratory, Ultrasound, Digital X-ray and laparoscopy to name but a few. That being said the best thing about the practice is the fantastic team. There are 7 vets, who are supported by 6 registered veterinary nurses, 4 student veterinary nurses and 7 support staff, with 2 certificate holders on the team who can provide expertise on small animal surgery. They strongly encourage the staff to pursue their interests and also have 3 Vets currently doing Certificates in Small Animal Surgery, Feline Medicine and imaging.
The successful candidate will carry out several vet duties including First Opinion veterinary Consults, Vaccinations, Health Checks, Neutering, General Surgery and Diagnostics. The client is open to both full/part-time applications for this role, working on average 40 hours across 4 days per week, on a shared rota with a fair shift pattern. You will be required to work 1:7 weekends and there is no out of hours, however you may need to cover inpatient care should the need arise. Salary for this position of up to 55,000 FTE based on your experience.
The ideal candidate is a first opinion veterinary surgeon who has some experience working in a practice. You will be dedicated to putting animal care at the heart of everything that you do and fit seamlessly into the friendly team. An interest in medicine would be an advantage however, this is not a deal-breaker.
