An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced SA Veterinary Surgeon to join this team in Maidenhead on a rural site less than one hour from Central London.
The practice is based in a purpose designed barn conversion with four consult rooms, two surgical suites with piped gas, DR radiography, Doppler ultra sound, endoscopy and dental radiography. They have a passionate team promoting great work life balance while encouraging first class standards of veterinary care.
The team consists of ten veterinary surgeons, ten RVNs and two SVN's. One AV orthopaedic certificate holder working as a referral surgeon, two certificate holders and two candidates currently studying - special interests and CPD actively encouraged.

The position would be based on a four day week from 8:30am-6pm with 1 in 10 night duty with late surgery until 8pm with inpatient responsibility. They also operate a ten week rota with one full weekend, one full Saturday and one half Saturday.

The ideal candidate will be experienced and preferably a certificate holder - communication skills and team spirit are paramount. This is a full time position with a competitive salary, CPD allowance, exclusive company discounts, reward schemes and career development.

We have a 1:4 rota for Saturdays.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience as there will be some branch work which will include some sole charge. You will be an excellent communicator and can hit the ground running, building strong relationships with their clients and other team members. Your responsibilities will include

• To provide patient triage, assessment and emergency consultations.
• To provide diagnostic services including xray, ultrasound, endoscopy, lab and clinical pathology.
• To provide patients with hospitalisation and intensive care.
• To provide medical/surgical treatment.
• To communicate and up-date clients with clinical status, progress and developments.
• To work with the shift team of nurses and ACAs.
• To record case notes accurately and completely on Robovet (Practice Management System) and Clinic documentation (anaesthetic records, hospitalisation and intensive care sheets etc).
• To estimate fees and costs accurately and communicate estimates to clients.
• To book fees, products and consumables accurately.
• Case transition management (admission and discharge) at the beginning and end of shifts – communication to clients and practice members
• To process insurance claims.
• Minimise debt risk for individual cases.
• To support the Principle in administration of the Veterinary surgeon rota and shift cover.
• To support the development and implement Clinical procedures and protocols.
• To develop and maintain Standards.
• To liaise with clients regarding complaints and issues.
