Exciting new opportunity for an experienced Vet with interests in oncology to join a progressive Tier 3 hospital based close to Leeds in West Yorkshire. Working with an experienced oncology team, you may be looking towards specializing in this subject, or be part way through a certificate. You will be supported by their oncology expert and would have ongoing mentorship if required. They have a dedicated oncology suite where they offer both surgical and medical cancer treatments, and have a particular interest in reconstructive surgery and can provide both adjuvant and neo adjuvant chemotherapy. The facilities in the rest of the hospital are excellent, with CT scanner, various flexible and rigid scopes, ultrasound and access to an MRI twice a month.

This practice deal with a mix of caseload from the routine cases from their 5 branches, and also take referrals which include surgery, Cardiology, oncology, dermatology, ophthalmology and imaging, carried out by a team of certificate and diploma holders.

This is a full-time role for 47 hours per week Monday to Friday with weekends on a 1:4 rota. This is a 24 hour hospital but there are no out of hours with this position as the hospital have a dedicated night team. You will be joining a team of over 20 vets who have varying interests and hold a variety of certificates. Due to the nature and size of the business you will gain broad exposure to a varied caseload within a friendly and supportive team.

In return the client offers a competitive salary, generous CPD allowance with 4 days per year to attend events, 33 days holiday and an additional day off for your birthday and a noncontractual bonus scheme. addition to your salary vets receive a top up payment for each weekend worked and two days off in Lieu the following week.

Salary is based on targeted on securing and keeping the very best candidates and is dependent on experience. Excellent CPD allowance of funding and time is given plus other benefits

This client are a wonderful three site group with one main hospital site. The hospital is a gold friendly cat practice and one of the branch practices has just been awarded silver. They are a training practice, part of the practice standards scheme with outstanding RCVS awards and all practices are well equipped and boast individual species wards (cat, dog and exotics). The team see a varied caseload, including offer referrals in Orthopaedics, and have a good range of surgical cases including exotics. The majority of procedures are carried out in house where possible and although you will have NO OOH’s duties with this role, the hospital facilities boast 24 hour nursing to enable overnight inpatient care. They have well equipped sites including a state of the art ultrasound machine and EPOC and a brand new X-ray room at their brand new state-of-the-art purpose built practice in the area. This client are big on personal development and currently have a vet with cardiac interest, a vet completing her medical certificate and a vet completing her surgical certificate. The right candidate needs to have experience and a surgical competence. You also need to be able to carry out consultations and take sole charge if needed to run a well-equipped branch practice if needed. Good communication skills and a willingness to move the practice forward are essential, as is working well in a team. You must also be able to work closely with the nursing team to provide outstanding inpatient care. This is a full time role, over 4 days per week with Saturdays only, on a rota basis, but no OOH's. Our client in this lovely West Yorkshire town are looking for a vet with a surgical interest to join their busy practice. This position would be ideal for someone to concentrate on surgical development, and ideally they would like someone who has their SAS certificate or is close to completing They have a busy surgical caseload and are keen to find someone to assist driving the surgical development of the practices. Alongside this you will also be confident with first opinion general practice, as there will be a mix of caseload in this role. The practice does have laparoscopic equipment, so this would suit someone with experience in this area, who would be happy to pass on that knowledge within the team. Full time hours would be based on a 40 hour week across 3 and a half days with either 1:4 full weekends or 1:2 Saturdays. Part time would also be considered. Ideally you will have 2 years plus experience, and be capable to work autonomously. In return they would offer a generous Salary dependent on experience and 2k CPD allowance with 6.6 weeks holiday. They are more than happy to invest in new equipment for supporting interests and can discuss certificate support.
