Our client in South Wales have exciting opportunities to join their rapidly expanding team to increase their current ECC care, and become a seamless 24/7 service for local practices.
This role will be working on a rolling rota of 4 days on, 4 days off, allowing the successful candidates to really maximise a satisfying clinical role with great quality of life by striking a great work-life balance.
The practice is situated in an extremely diverse area. South Wales and, in particular, Cardiff and its surroundings really are something very special. Within easy commuting distance of all of the groups practices, you can be living in the vibrant city centre of Cardiff, surround yourself with nature and tranquillity in the coastal towns of the Vale of Glamorgan, or the mountains of the Valleys and Brecon Beacons National Park. The area really does have something for everyone. Sports facilities are extensive and broad-ranging: from the International Sports Village in Cardiff to UK-renowned mountain bike trails in Merthyr Tydfil and Cwmbran, beautiful walks on the Welsh Coastal Path or mountain and waterfall walks in the Brecon Beacons National Park, there really is something for everyone.
The hospital site is a busy referral and emergency centre, covering the out-of-hours provision for the branch practices and approximately 40 local practices. With the new rota design, the team aim to achieve a seamless 24/7 emergency service to all clients and user practices, accepting inpatient transfers and emergency cases throughout the day.
This role would be perfect for vets with a specific interest in ECC work, with the opportunity for certificate study, if desired. The successful candidates will have the excitement of an ECC role, but with the added benefit of no long night hours and plenty of time to enjoy the local area!
The hospital boasts a CT scanner, advanced ultrasonography equipment, endo-surgery facilities, extensive blood analysis equipment, dedicated orthopaedic, soft tissue, and exotic theatres, as well as a dedicated dental suite.
The practice also proudly host pet blood bank sessions to provide much needed support to the veterinary community, which has so far received outstanding feedback.

This is a full time role working an average of 35 hours per week with a starting salary of between 65-75k – dependant on experience/role.
Plus up to 6.6 weeks holiday, inclusive of Bank holidays – options to buy and sell, sick pay of 2 weeks full pay and 2 weeks half pay, CPD 1750 and VDS and RCVS memberships paid.

Our client has two practices in the area and are looking for a Full Time Small Animal Vet to join them.
Both sites are purpose-built to run independently and fully equipped to care for patients if they need a workup. There are excellent facilities in both branches, such as in-house blood, CR, ultrasound, and surgical capability, to name but a few. The practices are in a beautiful location - easily commutable from vibrant Cardiff, with the Brecon Beacons to the North and glorious beaches to the South.
There are currently 8 vets (2 of these are part-time), 9 Registered Veterinary Nurses + 1 Student Veterinary Nurse, and a growing support team of 9+, with others across reception and additional care assistants. One of the vets is working towards a surgical certificate and they are supporting others in working towards their preferred specialties.
They strive to create a positive ethos and give staff a balanced workload. The clinic runs 15-minute consults, with catch up time blocked off during the day and the last consult booked 45 minutes before the end of the day, so there’s a chance to leave early.
The ideal candidate will be someone who is easy going, who can fit into the team. The role can be flexible - medical, surgical, imaging or dental biases can be supported. The shift pattern for full-time is 38 hours across 4 days per week on a fixed rota day off per week, with 1:3 Saturdays 9 am-12 pm and time back in lieu. No out of hours work. They are open to partn time applications with the view to work 2/3 days per week. Salary is up to 60,000.
Ideally you will have previous experience in a first opinion environment, even if this was short-term or you may need support to get going again. They are also keen to hear from candidates who are more experienced, who are looking to take the next step in their career and develop more specific aspects of their skillset.

Our client has 6 branches in the South Wales region and are looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to join the team near Bridgend.
This is a full time position, spread over 4 weekdays with a 1:4 Saturday rota but no OOH duties. Overtime is paid back either in Time of in Lieu or monetarily.

The team focus on a happy and honest work culture, with good benefits. This position is sole charge but ample support can be provided from the groups 2 roving Clinical Directors.
The practice welcomes a pleasant client base, who have stayed polite and understanding through COVID making this practice a warm and welcoming place to work. You will see a broad and interesting range of first opinion work and be given ample support in the form of 2 roving Clinical Directors who can be on hand to teach or guide as necessary. They have a digital radiography, in house Idexx laboratory, ultrasound, tonopen, and separate dog and cat wards. The practice has just finished renovations to the reception and theatre areas and is surprisingly large.
The practice is positioned in a desirable area with good links to the M4 and is close to the beautiful Kenfig beach & nature reserve, and within easy reach of Cardiff City.
The ideal candidate must be able to work sole charge, although support is provided for larger ops or if a second pair of hands are needed, you must be friendly with a warm character to fit in well with the clients and the wider team.
This role could support someone who is interested in leadership/management, however this is not mandatory.
