Weekend Vet, South London Hospital, Flexible Working

Our hospital client have a vacancy for a part time vacancy to join them working weekends.

They are happy to offer every weekend or every other weekend work. As a large hospital, they are also able to offer addition work during the days if candidates wanted an income boost on an as and when basis.

This role would suit a vets who are unable/or do not want to work weekdays be that due to family commitments, studies, other work commitments, approaching retirement etc etc.

The practice is extremely well equipped and boasts in-house MRI and CT scanners.

The role involves consultations, managing emergencies surgeries and patient care.

Ideal candidates will have 3 years experience, however, less experiences candidates will be considered if they are confident in their clinical judgement and feel they can comfortably handle more common emergency surgeries.

Our client in South London would like a vet with 12 months or more experience to join them working in their large 6 vet (plus a dedicated tight team) hospital. Ideally this role would suit a vet with a medical interest, looking to start a certificate. However, given the size of the practice, all interest can be considered and catered for. The Practice was refurbished two years ago therefore there is a top of the range ultrasound machine, digital x-ray, endoscope, ventilator, exotic ward, separate cat, and dog waiting area. They are hugely supportive of each another and are constantly striving to improve the care they provide to clients and patients alike. They also have the help and support of a visiting specialist orthopaedic surgeon, if needed. They also support the RSPCA C4 charity for cat neutering. CPD’s are supported and encouraged. This is a varied position where you will have the opportunity to run the Practice the way you want with the support of the Practice Manager and wider team. You will be involved in managing and building the team, as well as a mixture of consults and surgery. No day is the same and you will see a varied caseload of small animals including dogs, cats, tortoises, birds and lizards, the list goes on. Our client has an opportunity for a developing veterinary surgeon to join them. Ideally candidates will have 12 months experience upwards, so doing some surgeries and medical cases. This is a dual site role where the lead vets in both sites have a history, of end enjoy developing junior veterinary surgeon. 2 days per week will be spent in each practice with 1 in 3 Saturdays worked. Our client has a gold standard tier 3 hospital near Sidcup, who are now looking for a Full Time Night Registered Veterinary Nurse. There is a fantastic team of well established vets, nurses, VCAs as well as a dedicated reception, accounts, insurance and lab team. The vets have a varied range of knowledge, including internal medicine, imaging, orthopaedic, surgery and dentistry. They have excellent facilities and offer a wide range of surgery, MRI, Laparoscopic procedures, X-ray, ultrasound, endoscopy and a fully equipped laboratory with a dedicated team. The clinic is on the North Kent and South London border with 7 other branches across the local area. They are a training hospital and are dedicated to getting the best out of their staff to further everyone's careers as much as possible, and to ensure that the working life is as fun as can be. They have a large but family-like team with roughly 30 vets and 30 nurses as well as a strong team of around 10 VCAs. There is a dedicated reception, insurance, accounts, and lab team, meaning nurses can concentrate on actual nursing. The vets are certificate holders in exotics, imaging, medicine, surgery, orthopaedics and dentistry. They also have a roaming orthopaedic and cardiology specialist with an MRI machine that visits monthly. The successful candidate will work 7 nights on followed by 14 days off (averaging 28 hours per week). You will have two-night VCAs to offer assistance and support during the night as well as a dedicated night vet. Night duties include answering emergency calls and seeing emergency clinics alongside the team, looking after the inpatients with gold standard care, supervising the VCA team, guiding and directing them. You will be required to be a mentor to the VCA team. You will be in charge of setting up the prep and procedure rooms for morning ops and ensuring the night runs as smoothly as possible. Client care is very high on our priorities so great customer care is also required. Salary for the role is up to 32,000 per annum depending on experience. You must have ECC experience and be at least 1 year qualified. You will be registered with the RCVS registered and have general inpatient care experience. Full training will be provided but they do require a level of experience that enables the candidate to take independent care of inpatients, as well as other night duties. You must show exceptional work ethic and be able to complete all nursing duties independently, as sole nurse. Due to expansion and demand, our Central London client are seeking a 6th veterinary surgeon to join their team. This practice is very busy so there is a requirement for all candidates to have around 2 years experience. All candidates must be happy with routine GP surgical and medical cases. Should candidates wish to embark on a small animal based certificate, this would be readily encouraged. Our client would like an additional, experienced small animal surgeon to join their night team. Their fantastic rota is based on a 7 on 14 off basis allowing loads of time for study, travel, additional locum work or even just time to chill out! Joining this practice you will be the sole charge vet working with experienced nurses. Our client in South London are looking for a couple of fabulous Registered Veterinary Nurses to join their friendly team on a permanent basis. This started as a single vet practice in East Dulwich almost 10 years ago and they have now grown to have 3 practices with 16 Veterinary Surgeons, 10 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 6 Veterinary Care Assistants/Students and 16 Veterinary Reception/ Administration staff. They are a close team who are welcoming and enjoy working together and to a high standard. The practices all have lovely facilities and buildings, and all the usual good toys. The team provide an excellent standard of care, for every anaesthetic they use the best drugs (only sevoflurane gas) and everything has an IV placed and gets fluids. They use a range of anaesthetic monitors, they manually chart, supervise, train, and record incidents. They review their practice and processes in a supportive way to allow them to provide the safest care for all of their patients, which hopefully means the least stress for everyone. There are added perks like your birthday off. All the staff work 1 in 3 weekends and if working a Sunday, you get a day off in lieu the following week.
