Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon for Single Site Practice in rural Lanarkshire

This large multidisciplinary team of experienced, professional and friendly staff are looking for a Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join their mixed team.

The ideal candidate will be looking to work a 4 day week (average 38 hours per week) but consideration will be given to part-time applicants. As part of the dedicated small animal team you will be involved in a wide variety of cases from booster vaccinations and consults to orthopaedics, soft tissue surgery & medicine cases. There is real scope to develop a niche and follow your own interests here.
There will be a 1:4 Saturday rota, working 8.30am-12pm but no OOH's.

This single site practice based in Rural South Lanarkshire is technically a mixed practice but this a small animal position - the Farm and Equine departments operate separately.
The Small Animal department operates out of a large purpose-built stone building with lovely facilities, separate dog and cat wards, dedicated theatres, a dedicated dental suite, digital x-ray (including dental), ultrasound and scopes. Currently the team has fourteen Vets across the group; 6 small animal, 4 equine and 4 farm, plus six Nurses and one animal care assistant. They are also a Nurse training practice.

The successful candidate will have some small animal experience and have the desire to develop your own interests, whilst being supported by the wider team. You must be confident working sole charge and be a team player.

Salary is dependent on experience up to 50k plus enhanced holiday entitlement, increasing holiday based on length of service, and CPD paid days and allowance.

Set in the heart of Scotland's Dairy belt, just 20 miles South of Glasgow, this area has some of the best views in the country with ready access to the coast and hills. The practice has good access to major road networks and so travel is easy. For those with an adventurous spirit there is plenty of access to mountain biking, water sports and hill walking, without being too far from civilisation.
