Small Animal Vet with Surgical Bias for Experienced Team - near Bath
This Mixed Animal client in beautiful Somerset operate their Small Animal services from a purpose-built, gold standard veterinary practice with all the modern equipment you would expect.
The Small Animal team is currently made up of 5 qualified vets and 7 qualified nurses and has a clinical team that functions around support and the delivery of high-quality veterinary medicine. The team are actively encouraged to develop individual clinical skills and interests. This has led to a GP Cert AVP in Small Animal Medicine, as well as Physiotherapy and Behaviour, Emergency Critical Care, and Dental Surgery.
The team also play an active part in the local community, sponsoring events like the local children's carnival, providing support on interview techniques for school leavers and giving talks with local charity groups.
Clinically the team encourage and educate their clients on the benefits of preventative healthcare, but the biggest selling point is their practice team and the emphasis that they put on well-being and support. With trained Mental Health First Aiders and Well-being Champions, they strive hard at maintaining a healthy work/life balance.
As part of a 5-vet team and with the support of our 7 fully qualified nurses, you will be expected to deliver a mix of 15 minutes consults or undertake surgical procedures as a part of mixed diary layout.
Non-surgical days consist of a wide range of first opinion appointments, with an emphasis on case work up using in house diagnostic facilities. Fully equipped operating theatre and dental suite mean surgeries are undertaken every day and are performed at a high standard.
This is a full-time position working 4 days per week 8.30am - 6.30pm. OOH rota is 1:10 weeknights and weekends.
This position would suit an ambitious candidate with a surgical bias and if possible an interest in future business development.
The team are keen to develop and hone a future Clinical Director by providing all the relevant support, training and mentoring needed to take this next step in your career. An active interest in the day-to day running of the business would be essential and in return an exciting journey into running your own practice alongside 4 other Clinical Directors is on offer.
The practice is located in a popular market town with good transport links to Yeovil (12 miles), Bristol (27 miles), Bath (25 miles) or the coast, depending on how you want to spend your free time.
