Small animal vet vacancy for small but growing practice, mentorship available

I am working with a lovely independent client who is based just half a mile from the beach in lovely North Wales. Easily reached from Conwy, Llandudno and Abergele. They are a small RCVS accredited practice who are growing the number of lovely clients they see. They are looking to take on a new small animal vet in order to make this happen. Due to this situation, they are able to offer mentorship and can always be on hand to offer support and development in surgery. They are keen for someone to grow and develop with the practice and are flexible to look at full or part time hours, ideally you would be able to work 1:3 Saturday mornings but this can be discussed, but No Sundays and NO OOH’s

They have great facilities, with Ultrasound, ECG, Dental machine, thermocautery pulse oximeter and endoscope. And are keen to expand the services they offer to patients over time.

Ideally as a candidate you will be confident to work in some sole charge, but someone can always be on hand to help with emergencies.

Salary will be negotiable depending on experience

I'm happy to advertise a small animal vet role with a lovely family run independent practice in the picturesque county of Norfolk. Located around 15 miles from the centre of the city of Norwich and just 5 miles from the beautiful Norfolk coastline and beaches. They are purpose built and equipped with their very own CT scanner and laser suite and are keen to recruit a vet with some experience to join them. They are gold level cat and rabbit friendly and pride themselves on providing a high level of both clinical and emotional care for their customers. They are flexible to discuss applications but a full time role with them would normally carry a quiet OOH's and weekend commitment of 1:5, with bonuses when you are called out. (They are currently looking to launch their own night team, so this may be something that is no longer required) The caseload is varied and also carries a high proportion of around 40% exotic/zoo related cases, with a certificated member of the vet team who carries the majority of consults in this discipline, however the practice are able to offer some training in this area if a candidate is keen to progress in the field. However for a candidate with no interest to follow this then a good caseload of routine work can be offered with the ability to support other disciplines up to certificate level too. Our independent client in Surrey have an opening available for a full time small animal veterinary surgeon at their group of 3 branch practices in Surrey. The team are ideally looking for an experienced vet with a surgical bias, someone who is confident with a range of surgical procedures and who is happy to work sole charge shifts. The team can support anyone looking to undertake a certificate in surgery. As a practice they offer 15 minute appointments as standard and admin time is factored into the rota so that vets can usually leave on time to allow for a good work life balance. They are also proud to offer their own OOH emergency service to their own clients and so all vets participate in an equally shared rota. This entails no more than one night on call per week, and one weekend on call in six. Day to day working hours are variable across the week with some 5pm finishes, as well as time off around your on call night with a 2pm start and 12pm finish the next day. There are also Saturday clinics at some of the smaller branches and so in addition there will eventually be one Saturday in every 12 weeks, 9am-4pm shift (although these are currently on hold). You will be working with an experienced team of Vets, including six certificate holders, and supported by a team of 10 RVNs. The team are well equipped and work to a high standard of care, offering orthopaedics, laparoscopy, endoscopy, ultrasonography, acupuncture and laser therapy, as well as their own laboratory and behaviourist. They currently hold an RCVS Tier 2 status and are working towards Tier 3 hospital status - further qualifications and CPD are actively encouraged and funded. Our client with practices in Essex and London are looking for an experienced Vet for a new Lead role of an expanding team in 2 practices based just 15 miles apart. This is primarily a clinical role working closely with the Regional Practice Manager and experienced Head Nurses in both clinics, further supported by the broader leadership team within the wider group. This small and friendly independent practice set within an historic part of Lincolnshire, have a great opportunity for a full time Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join the team on a permanent basis. The team also have an established relationship with a visiting Orthopaedic surgeon, who attends the practice to perform procedures, allowing for better continuity of patient and client care. The team are looking for a full time Veterinary Surgeon to join the team, surgical experience is required as the team see a high level of of routine procedures. A consulting/internal medicine bias would be ideal but this is not essential. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to consulting, surgery days, client communications, in-patient care and so you must be registered with the RCVS and ideally have 2-3 years experience, although the team can support a new or recent graduate if you are looking for a supportive environment. You will be working collaboratively as part of a well-established team of receptionists, nurses and vets. This full time role will see you work 43.75hrs per week. There is plenty of time within this for paperwork, client communications, and case development plus 1 hour for lunch every day. The weekend rota is 1 in 4 with inpatient care and Saturday consults 8.15-11am and 2.30-4pm. If there are inpatients, a morning inpatient check on a Sunday is also required. There is always a nurse staying over IF there are inpatients. OOH emergency care is provided by VetsNow, however the team are proud to care for their own inpatients as required. There is a 1 in 4 weeknight inpatient cover shift, mainly phone advice if required by the nurse staying over. You will be given clinical freedom whilst working within a supportive team with highly supportive management and a lovely client base. Our Norfolk based client are looking for a part-time vet to join their fabulous branch clinic that has been recently refurbished. This client have a team of veterinary surgeons working across two branches in the local area and are looking for a new part-time vet to work sole charge in their small branch practice near Attleborough. Although you will be the only vet on shift, you will always be supported by the team of registered veterinary nurses, trainee veterinary nurses, animal care assistants, and reception and administrative colleagues. Our client is a well-established, mixed practice with 3 branches on the Isle of Man. The main clinic is in Douglas, with branches nearby. They currently have 7 vets and an excellent team of nurses and reception staff to support the team. As this is a mixed practice the team have a range of skills, some are true mixed vets, others are 100% small animal. The practice have fantastic equipment, including in house Idexx lab equipment, ultrasound and digital x-ray. The Isle of Man is a unique place and has lots to offer whatever your interests.
