Our client on the Scottish borders have a vacancy for a mixed animal vet to join their, large experience team to work in a truly mixed fashion.
As we all know, genuinely mixed animal vet vacancies are becoming few and far between, so vacancies for mixed vets are even less common.
This role would suit a vet who is interested in all areas of the work and relishes in the fact that no day is ever the same and wants to continue with the exceptional service the existing team have been offering for year.
Unlike most mixed animal roles with very arduous working patterns, this client offer a 4.5 day week, only one night per week on call and only 1 weekend in 5 worked. After which the following Monday is taken as a day off.
Practice interest include ophthalmology, orthopaedices and complex small animal surgeries. They are fantastically equipped across, small, farm and equine and they have an exceptional reputation. They are happy to help develop specialisms in any area and will support certificates if required.
Given they are on the borders, it is easy to enjoy rural living while being only a short drive to big cities such as Newcastle, Edinburgh and Glasgow
With regards to package, salary up-to 55,000, 33 days holiday including bank holidays, 1500 cpd with an additional 5 days to study.
Our client is a first opinion small animal practice located in Falkirk who are looking for a Full or Part Time Small Animal Vet to join their team.
You will be joining a team of 4 vets, 4.5 RVN’s & 2 ACA’s. There is a visiting orthopaedic surgeon, one of the vets has an interest in Cardiology and does some cardiac scanning as well as a certificate in small animal medicine, they are also in process of becoming a nurse training practice. They have all the usual equipment, including an in-house Idexx biochemistry and haematology analysers along with standard diagnostic laboratory equipment, digital x-ray, ultrasound, tonopen and a multi-parameter anaesthetic monitoring machine.
Ideally you will be confident in both consulting and surgery procedures whilst providing support and assistance to the less experienced vets within the team. The case load consists of but not limited to, lots of dermatology, dentistry, medical cases and typical surgeries such as neuters, lump removals, entropion’s, cherry eyes, enterotomies, amputations, etc. They are looking for an experienced vet that is ready to pass on their knowledge and mentor the younger vets in practice, so would suit a vet looking to move into a lead vet role. You must be confident in sole charge and RCVS registered. Further certification is supported and funded.
The client has a flexible approach and is open to from 15-40 hours per week, working 2-4 days per week, with no OOH or on call. Salary up to 60, 000 negotiable D.O.E

Our client has recently moved into a large modern building and due to continued growth is now looking for a Full Time Small Animal Vet to join them.
The practice is well equipped with surgical and diagnostic tools and carries out as much work as they can in-house. CPD is funded and a fee-earning certificate would be encouraged if desired. They are located in the centre of up and coming Dundee, with good shopping, restaurants and nightlife, a blossoming cultural scene as well as plenty of access to Scotland's great outdoors. This is a general first opinion practice and the role would involve a mixture of medical and surgical cases. The caseload can be tailored to your individual interests and skills. Typical caseloads include general soft tissue surgery such as routine neutering, lump removals, diagnostic imaging and dentistry.
The client is flexible and is open to full or part time hours. Full time would be working across 4 days, 1:3 Saturdays (8am-2pm) – day off after a Saturday on and no OOH’s. Part time hours would be suit your needs.
The successful candidate will have experience in a clinical setting and be comfortable to carry out routine consultations, investigations and surgery without supervision. A friendly approach to clients and the ability to work well as part of a team is essential. Some experience in emergency medicine would be beneficial, though not essential.
