Lead small animal vet for large practice in Greater London, Minimum £60k

My client are a large practice, with four sites in the Middlesex area. They require an experienced small animal vet to join the team working across a main surgery and branch.

They are fully set up to deal with both routine and more complex cases, and have facilities including Dental X-ray and suite, ECG, Ultrasound and digital X-Ray, Blood machines etc, and are able to offer other therapies including acupuncture. And the team include certificate holders in medicine and ECC and those currently studying for cardiology and feline medicine

They offer a 38-42 hour week with NO OOH’s and a weekend rota of 1:6 with occasional Saturdays. Benefits include Medical care, 34 days holiday and generous CPD They can however be flexible on all aspects of the rota for the right person.
A keen surgeon would be attractive to compliment the team however other disciplines are welcome and supported.

You will be a competent all rounder, with good experience in all aspects of general practice

We have worked with our client for a number of years and they are a professional and well respected small animal practice based near Streatham Common. They are now looking for a full time Veterinary Surgeon to join them. The practice is in a superb location being just a 5 minute walk from Norbury train station. The clinic has light, large and airy consult rooms, dedicated x-ray and ultrasound room; modern theatre and prep area; in house lab; dental machine and separate cattery and kennels. The friendly team consists of 3 vets, 2 RVN's' 2 ANA's, 3 receptionists and a highly experienced Practice Principal. Ideally this position is 5 days per week with 1:3 Saturday mornings and no OOH, however the team may be able to offer a degree of flexibility around this standard pattern (both full and part time applications will be considered). This is a busy practice with appointments (15 minutes) only. The ideal candidate will be confident and competent in all soft tissue surgeries and basic orthopaedics, and will be happy to mentor and guide less experienced team members. You will work closely with the Practice Principal and contribute to the management, organisation and financial performance of the practice. The ideal candidate would have experience in a Senior Vet position but they are also open to candidates who are looking at taking the next step up in their career. Excellent communication skills are required together with very strong surgical skills and the ability to meet deadlines. Our client based in South London, within the M25, are in need of an experienced, capable and confident GP Veterinary Surgeon to join their fantastic team of hospital clinicians. If you want to work in a dynamic environment in which no two days are the same, this could be the ideal place for you. All the vets thrive on the diverse caseload and welcome the fact that they refer very few cases. They particularly value the support colleagues provide, but also prefer to manage their own cases, in the way they see fit. The successful candidate will have a number of years working in UK practice behind them, and will be comfortable working in a busy and diverse environment. You will work alongside a number of Certificate holders and will have plenty of opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge – both formally through CPD and informally through case collaboration. The team of vets work a 40 hour week across 4 days, inclusive of 1:4 weekends and they provide second on call cover for occasional nights. They are supported by a large team of qualified and student nurses, as well as Clinical Support Services personnel. The practice has its own separate cat, dog and exotics wards, each encompassing their own operating theatres, as well as dedicated dental suites, ultrasound facilities, endoscopy and of course x-ray. The ideal candidate will have a medical bias but not be afraid of surgery, and you will be particularly interested in diagnostic imaging and medical work-ups. Our client have a small group of practices in the South West London area. They have a team of 12 vets and a large team of nursing and support staff across their 3 practices. Vets tend to work in single sites. All practices are well equipped with digital ultrasound, dopler ultrasound, dental x-ray, endoscopes, K-Laser, laparoscopic equipment and full in house labs. The vets work a 4 day week with shifts ending at either 5.30 or 7.30 with 1 in 3 Saturdays. Sundays are only 1 in 9. There are no OOH's. There is a mixture between consultations and surgery each day and a variety of late starts and early finishes shared evenly. The ideal candidate will have at least 1-2 years experience, who is confident and competent in routine surgery. Our client just outside Dulwich in South London are looking for an enthusiastic Veterinary Surgeon to join their friendly team. This is a busy practice with a diverse caseload and a 100% small animal focus, with all the usual equipment, digital x-ray (including dental), ultrasound, in house blood machines, multi parameter monitoring equipment and more. The role is full time (5 days x 8 hour shifts) plus every second Saturday morning (4 hours) but with no OOH. The team can offer a diverse caseload, beyond just routine ops and vaccinations, where clinical freedom and case follow through is encouraged plus interaction with the Clinical Director/colleagues where appropriate. The team is led by the Clinical Director plus three other vets and 3 RVN’s. The support staff include a VCA, auxiliary and student nurses and a receptionist. Two of the vets are currently studying Post Graduate Certificates in Surgery and Internal Medicine. The role would suit a vet with solid experience in first opinion practice. Must be RCVS registered. Previous exposure to non-routine cases would be great plus the ability to step up and take ownership of your caseload, deliver on time consults and ops, and have a great customer focus. Our client has a busy first opinion clinic near Sidcup who are looking for a Full or Part Time Small Animal Vet to join them. The clinic is just 20 minutes by train to central London. The client has 3 practices, two for essential care and one vaccination clinic. They have the full range of diagnostics you would expect, Idexx blood machines, Idexx Urinaylsis in house and a Full Dental suite with X-ray. The friendly team is made up of 5 full-time Vets, 5 Registered Veterinary Nurses, and 12 supporting team members. The practice is multilingual and currently has Vets from Bulgaria, Romania, Italy, and Poland. The team like to be inclusive and promote a supportive culture and discuss cases when necessary. They are also very open to supporting CPDs if you want to focus on a particular area of care. The successful candidate will join a 7 on 21 (23 hours per week on average) off rota, working 13 weeks of the year.
