Small and Equine vet for South Yorkshire

South Yorkshire practice require a small and Equine vet

With larger than normal percentage of Equine work, this role is a rare opportunity.

This well established traditional independent practice has a busy mixed caseload, but they have the need for a vet to work across the small and equine departments. With several branches and an equine unit with full hospital set up, you would work in both across both sites alongside client visits, caseload includes everything from health check and routine surgical procedures to emergencies and reproduction.

The rota includes a week on call and weekend in five with time off in lieu.

A practice vehicle can be supplied if desired and is fully funded including a reasonable private mileage and accommodation can also be provided if needed.

Small animal Vet required for cutting edge practice based in South Yorkshire. This progressive 24-hour practice are looking for a day vet to join their rota of twelve vets. Facilities include all the usual equipment such as Ultrasound and Digital X-Ray, but also a full endo-surgery suite, orthopaedic surgical equipment, hydrotherapy and plans for a CT scanner coming soon. The team includes 5 Certificate holders and they would love to welcome someone who has either completed or is looking to complete a Certificate in the future. They are a supportive and friendly team and have a very busy caseload including specialist surgery and chemotherapy. Ideally you will be a confident vet who can comfortably deal with most that routine consultations can throw up. The environment is very supportive and learning and development is not an issue to provide, so someone with a year or so experience, with a good level of confidence would be suitable. There is no sole charge and there is always someone around to advise, but the practice are keen to recruit someone who is able to deal with the fast moving pace of the practice. The working week is based on 37.5 hours so does provide a good work life balance, with regular weekends. There are NO OOH’s as this is covered by the practices night team. The team would also welcome part time applications particularly from someone who is happy to work weekends. This busy and friendly practice is based in the outskirts of Sheffield and are keen to recruit a confident and enthusiastic new team member to share the growing caseload. There will be an aspect of sole charge so you would be a confident and capable vet who would like to work with a varied caseload and a pleasant environment. The practice is purpose built with all the usual facilities and is more than happy to support the interests and certificates if desired. Weekends are worked on rota basis and there are NO OOH's Salary is competitive and good benefits area available.
