Senior Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon - Between Norwich and Bury St Edmunds

Our client who is based between Norwich and Busy St Edmunds is looking for a Senior Small Animal Surgeon to join and lead their team.

There is a large team of 7 vets and 11 RVNs. The practice is open 24/7 and is hoping to soon have a completely separate day and night team. They strive to provide the best care to their patients without the need for animals to be transferred between clinics. This is a full-time position however the practice can consider a part-time role for the right candidate.?

The practice sees many exotic patients therefore experience in exotic animals would be beneficial. The clinic is busy and fast paced, with superb facilities (separate feline, canine and exotic hospital, 2 theatres, dental room) and equipment (digital x-rays, endoscope, ultrasound machine with and a heart probe, in-house lab, tonometer).

Full time hours will include a 1:4 Saturday morning, one night on-call every 2 weeks and one OOH weekend in 10. You will have a Friday off after working the full weekend. They is already one night vet and they are currently in the process of hiring a 2nd?one. Until then we will expect you to cover our OOH services on rota basis. Afterwards, there may be a need to provide cover during their holiday.

Person Requirements:?

  • Registered with the RCVS?
  • Good team player, high clinical and customer service standards, ability to mentor colleagues
  • 5 years minimum experience
  • Good routine small animal surgical, emergency and medical skills

Our Norfolk based client are looking for a part-time vet to join their fabulous branch clinic that has been recently refurbished. This client have a team of veterinary surgeons working across two branches in the local area and are looking for a new part-time vet to work sole charge in their small branch practice near Attleborough. Although you will be the only vet on shift, you will always be supported by the team of registered veterinary nurses, trainee veterinary nurses, animal care assistants, and reception and administrative colleagues. The role is to work part time at the branch practice with occasional Saturday morning appointments at main hospital clinic in Diss. You will be working day to day with a friendly and motivated RVN/VCA and Receptionist. The practice operate 20-minute consultations and no OOH are required with this role. You will also have regular meetings with the Practice Director, aswell as team meetings, and working groups, so you will always feel supported and listened to. Candidates will have a good, all around skill set covering routine surgery and medical workups and may well be looking to start or complete a small animal certificate.
