Senior Small Animal Vet near Wolverhampton

Our client is a successful corporate practice who very much have a family feel and is run on an individual basis. Due to their continued success they are now looking for a Senior Small Animal Vet to join the team.

This is a growing practice with great facilities including 4 consult rooms, cat ward, dog ward, operating theatre, digital x-ray, dental x-ray, ultrasound and access to endoscope if needed. Working alongside the wonderful nurse team, they have 2 vets and a Clinic Director. One of the vets has a keen interest in feline medicine and the other is extremely interested in emergency medicine and exotics. The Clinic Director has a certificate in diagnostic imaging. High-quality clinical care is of utmost importance to the team. The clinical team, work closely a neighboring site and routinely have clinical meetings where cases are discussed. The team feel like an experienced GP vet with an interest in leadership, would complement their interests, whilst ensuring there is the development and progression of the younger vet team. This role would provide the successful candidate with a career opportunity to take the step into a group who are focused on a high-quality first opinion service, whilst progressing their leadership/managerial skills.

This role would be suitable for someone who is a confident general practitioner but has a keen interest in developing themselves as a leader, taking on some managerial responsibilities within the clinic . They are keen to consider full time and part-time applicants, with a share of Saturday mornings (0830-1230 TOIL given for each weekend worked). Out of hours is provided by Vets Now. The salary for this role is up to 57,000 depending on experience.

This vacancy is due to continued growth at the practice and therefore it’s important that the successful candidate has the following skills/attributes:
  • Experienced candidate; minimum 5 years’ experience
  • Drive to work towards clinical excellence within first opinion practice
  • Confidence in making strong clinical recommendations and being able to coach less experienced team members in making these
  • Confidence in supporting less experienced team members with surgical cases
  • Leadership qualities to enable successful support of less experienced team members
  • A desire to undertake further leadership/managerial training
  • RCVS registered
