Senior SA Vet Surgeon for Experienced Team of Specialists in South Yorkshire
Our South Yorkshire based client have a vacancy for a Senior Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to work in this well respected and experienced team of specialists in the area.
Having recently opened a new branch, to hospital standards, to add to their existing network of practices, this is a very exciting opportunity to join and grow with the existing team. Between them the team have interests in: soft tissue surgery, Orthopaedic surgery, imaging, medicine, ECC and feline medicine.
The new building has been purpose built to hospital standards and offers a dedicated OOH's service.
Practice equipment includes DR Radiology, Digital X-ray, Ultrasound with colour dopler, Flexible endoscopy, 2 operating theatres, electosurgery, Capnography, Piped oxygen, Autoclavable oscillating saw and Orthopaedic drill.
Offering all the services you would expect from a local small animal practice with in-house lab and diagnostic facilities, this client is a community-led, family-focused veterinary clinic serving the pets and people of South Yorkshire.
You will be joining a team of 9 vets, 7 RVN's, 2 SVN's and a wonderful support team of 15. Team working and respecting each other is key to this teams success. VetsNow handle the out of hours so there is no OOH or Bank Holiday work.
The ideal candidate will be experienced and comfortable with all consults, routine surgical procedures, cat and dog neuters, lump removals etc. Ideally you will have a medical The team encourage vets to follow cases through and to give clients continuity and so you must be happy with your own medical work ups and case continuity.
There is also an opportunity to progress with the practice and take over some managerial responsibilities within the practice as the Clinical Director looks to reduce their hours to retirement. This is an excellent opportunity to make this role your own but with the full support of the team to develop managerial skills.
This is a full time role working 40 hours per week (Mon-Fri 8hour days), with 1 in 7-8 Saturday mornings 8am-12noon.
but does not include OOH's(the new dedicated OOH team handle that).
There is a 1:6 weekend rota working full weekends (8hrs on a Saturday, 5hrs on a Sunday) with a full day off during the week following this long weekend and 1:6 part weekends (2hrs on a Saturday) with half a day off during the week following this short weekend.
The successful candidate will benefit from a salary commensurate with experience, 5 weeks hoilday plus bank holidays, paid RCVS and VDS, 5 days CPD a year plus many other benefits such as healthcare and pension plan.
