SA Vets for Group of Practices in Suffolk - Full or Part Time Considered

Steph Ward
Our client in Suffolk with 3 well-equipped branches are looking for Veterianry Surgeons of all levels to work at each of their surgeries.

All of the practices have access to digital Xray, operating theatre, orthopedic equipment, ultrasound, in house blood machines, urinalysis and the main branch close to Bury St Edmunds is just about to be fitted out with a blood gas machine too.

You must be confident with UK general practice and have previous surgical experience and ideally looking to work full time = a 4-day week (36 hours) and contribute to the weekend and out of hours rota. This currently equates to working one first on call and one second on call weekend in every 11 - 12 week cycle. Every two weeks you will be scheduled to staff one first on call evening until 10pm and one second on call evening until 10pm. After 10pm Monday-Thursday, from 6pm on Friday and from 5pm on Saturdays and Sundays our out of hours work goes to a local out of hours provider. No permanent accommodation available but use of a flat during on call shifts is possible if it’s not being used by a locum vet.

However the team can be flexible to a degree with what candidates might want and part time applications can be considered. As could flexible inclusion into the out of hours rota for the right candidate e.g. more regular Saturday morning shifts in lieu of evening and weekend work.

Salary will be dependant on experience - you will be well reimbursed with extra pay for out of hours work and second on call weekend duties, plus CPD allowance, RCVS fees paid, membership to the VDS and an organisation of your choice e.g. BVA, BSAVA. Plus a generous staff discount on pet care.

This is a friendly and hardworking practice who aim to give their clients a personal and high quality service. CPD is encouraged and funding for certificates is there for motivated colleagues. They benefit from being part of a large group who have a strong staff centred ethos, and invest in education and facilities whilst allowing good clinical freedom.
