Our client has a group of practices in the Wolverhampton area and are now looking for a full time Roving Small Animal Registered Veterinary Nurse to join them.
The practice is equipped with a CT scanner, in-house blood machines and lab equipment, digital x-ray, ultrasound, capnography, endoscopy, and dental x-ray. There is an existing very friendly and dedicated team. The group is currently expanding as a group and they do offer a range of services to clients. The have an additional 6 branches which offer the clients nurse and vet consultations running throughout the day and routine surgery. There are 2 Clinical Directors and 1 Practice Director across the group. At the hospital they have certificate holders in Diagnostic Imaging, Surgery and Medicine. There are 25 Registered Veterinary Nurses across the group and a team of Animal Care Assistants who work at the main hospital and alongside the Vets. There is plenty of administrative support via the wonderful reception team, with 30 receptionists across the group.
The successful candidate will be based at the busy hospital situated in the centre of Wolverhampton. This role is incredibly varied as branch cover will be required so this ensures all RVN skills are fully utilised. The required duties of this role include preparing animals for theatre, monitoring anaesthetics, assisting in theatre when required, positioning animals for x-rays, performing nursing procedures as detailed under Schedule 3 of the Veterinary Surgeons Act, providing intensive nursing care to hospitalised patients, performing detailed and accurate kennel rounds, performing nurse consultations, promoting preventative health care for pets, performing in house laboratory tests and being involved in stock control. No out of hour, 1 in 4 Saturday Rota working 9am-4pm.
This role would be ideal for a newly qualified RVN or an experienced RVN looking for a varied role. The candidate must be qualified and registered with the RCVS. The ideal candidate would be able to offer excellent client care and communication, deliver high standards of patient care, be an active team player, have excellent organisational skills and have an excellent bedside manner.
