Registered Veterinary Nurse - Bognor Regis

Our client located on the beautiful South of England coast are looking for an enthusiastic Registered Veterinary Nurse to join their existing team.

Located between the City of Chichester and Bognor Regis this small animal practice has a main Hospital and 2 branch practices - both branches are run independently, with their own facilities. All mod cons are available to each practice, be it in house or at a sister surgery. Ultrasonography, Endoscope, Digital Radiography, Dental Radiography and Advanced laboratory equipment.

This is a team in the process of expanding but currently they have 4 permanent Veterinary Surgeons, 3 locums, 5 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 2 Student Veterinary Nurses and 5 Animal Nursing Assistants. The team are also developing their skill set with some staff memmbers hoping to gain certification in Surgery and Emergency and Critical Care - the team encourage all forms of personal development.

The practice is in the process of gaining Cat Friendly status from ISFM along with the existing team gaining Fear Free status, all in the aid for a more stress-free environment for patients. The team also pride themselves on their outstanding work with local Wildlife and work closely with 2 local wildlife charities and the RSPCA.

The role is for either a full time or part time position, covering a 5 day a week rota. The team currently run a shift pattern, 8-hour day, Monday to Friday, 7am to 9pm. But this is subject to flexibility to facilitate a work life/family life balance, should the suitable candidate require.
There may be minimal branch work required and this will be on a shared rotation with all nursing staff. Ideally the ability to join the weekend rota, that is currently on rotation of approximately 1:6 Saturday morning shifts from 8am to 12pm (with flexibility due to the nature of the job!) But this is not essential.

The out of hours is currently covered by a dedicated off-site team, but this could change in the future and again will be flexible.

You will enjoy a varied workload, covering all aspects of a thriving hospital environment including but not limited to:
Theatre work, Inpatient care, Preparing and recovering day patients, Assisting Veterinary Surgeons, Running laboratory tests, Running nurse clinics, Helping to develop a wider range of clinics such as weight and geriatric clinics, Running puppy parties, Running socialisation classes, Occasional reception work.

The ideal candidate will be a confident and enthusiastic team member, someone who can run with the team as well as independently. You will be driven and passionate with a positive, hardworking attitude to help enhance the practice.

Salary will be dependent upon experienced between 20k-25k and include benefits (subject to pro rata);
• 4 weeks paid holiday not including bank holidays
• 3 days paid CPD leave
• 550 CPD allowance per annum
• RCVS Membership paid
• Service based holiday entitlement increases
• VDS cover
