Picturesque, Community Practice, Coastal Dorset, Small Animal Vet Vacancy

This role would suit a veterinary surgeon who is looking for a role where they will be a key part of not only the practice but also the community. This is the only local practice so is the go to place for most cases locally. it is a well equipped first opinion practice with good access to a local referral hospital if required. In house they have radiography, ultrasound, full lab etc. As the second vet you will play a pivotal role in the practice being involved in surgeries daily, working up your own caseloads. There will be occasions of sole charge, so vets need to be confident in their own clinical judgments. That said, telephone support will always be available if less experienced vets are working sole charge.

This practice operate a 4 day week with 1/6 weekends.

Package includes and exceptional salary, dependent upon experience 40,000 upwards for vets with 12 months experience, CPD upto certificate level, professional fees paid.

Our client based in beautiful Dorset are looking for a full-time vet to join their 100% small animal practice. This role is for a Senior Vet to become part of a small leadership team, undertaking management tasks, including HR & KPIs. The team deliver first class patient care whilst offering a caring, supportive environment in which to work, benefiting both the team, their clients, and their pets. This is an exciting time to join, as the team have just celebrated their 25th anniversary and are undergoing a refurbishment of the practice. Currently a small team of 16, including 1 Practice Director (Non-Clinical), 4 Vets (3.5 FTE), 3 RVNs, 2 ANAs (1.5 FTE), 4 Receptionists (2.2 FTE), and 2 Admin Support colleagues. They work from excellent, modern facilities with separate waiting areas and kennels for dogs and cats/small animals to ensure as little stress and discomfort as possible to the pets in their care. They offer an on-site laboratory, digital X-ray, dental X-ray, ultrasound, endoscopy, and a state-of-the-art operating theatre, so you£ll have everything you need to work to your very best. This role is ideally Full-time hours, but the team can offer flexibility if this is carried out over 4.5 days or 4 days. Hours to be covered include: 8.30am £" 6.30pm Monday to Friday, 1:3 late Wednesdays 11am £" 8pm, and 1:4 Saturdays 8.30 £" 5pm. There are no OOH with this role as they use Vets Now for this. You will be given time to work up cases and any clinical interests will be supported. Salary to be paid in the region of £55k-£57k, dependent on experience plus a generous CPD allowance, 6 weeks paid holiday, including Bank Holidays, a focus on employee wellbeing and career progression opportunities. Our independent client close to Bournemouth have a vacancy for an experienced vet to join their 3 vet team. They have an exceptional local reputation for delivering very high standards of first opinion care. They have a visiting Orthopaedic surgeon works on-site. The rota is a 3 day week, ideally, Monday Wednesday and Friday, however our client is very happy to discuss hours. In addition, 1 in 3 Saturdays in the short term, moving to 1:4 in the near future. There are no OOH’s or bank holidays required. P Surgery and consults are split equally between the vets and individual interests will be encouraged and catered for. There are limited occasions of sole charge so really, candidates should be comfortable with some routine surgical procedures and handling their own medical cases. The well-equipped practice has an extensive equipment list, including but not limited to: • Modern Imotek ultrasound machine with colour doppler and cardiac package • Powerful full body x-ray generator in purpose-built room • AGFA CR digital image processing • Electrocautery • Two large walk-in Casco glass fronted dog kennels • Rodent dental equipment • Wall mounted separate dental X-ray generator with Fire CR reader and software • Purpose built operating theatre with high-end lighting • IM3 dental equipment with purpose-built table, high and low speed drills and polishers • Separate Dog and Cat wards with Casco glass fronted kennels throughout with inbuilt heating and adjustable lighting • Large, well equipped consulting rooms • Air-conditioning throughout the building • Cat/Rabbit friendly The practice has 3 consult rooms, bright and airy prep area, dedicated ops room, separate cat and dog waiting room, great staff facilities for when on breaks. If you have ever considered a lead vet role where you can really put your stamp on a practice, or even want to run your own practice, this could be the perfect option for you. This is a sole charge role so as the lead vet, initially you will only be responsible for a small nursing support team. The successful candidate will work along the partner in the practice who has nearly 20 years experience in the practice.
