Our client near Ashford, Kent has a beautiful, purpose-built, light, and airy surgery situated less than an hour from London by train and near the beautiful Kent countryside, castles, and coast.

This is a well-equipped practice with facilities including an in-house blood machine and digital X-ray. The team pride themselves on providing excellent customer service and care for all their clients and their pets and value all their members of staff and understand the importance of a good work/life balance.

The close-knit team is made up of 1 Veterinary Surgeon, 1 Registered Veterinary Nurse, 2 Student Veterinary Nurses and 1 Receptionist. The whole team are happy, positive, and supportive people and pride themselves on creating a safe and pleasurable working environment for all.

The role is for a competent and enthusiastic vet to join their team on a part-time basis. Ideally, you will be available to work one day a week (they are flexible which day) between 8:30am - 6:30pm (320-400 per day), and 1:3 Saturdays between 8:30am and 12:30pm (160 - 200). No OOH are needed.
The role is wholly small animal – morning and afternoon consults and usually a small to moderate amount of surgery or other procedures in between. This can be adjusted to your surgical expertise / interests.
This is a sole charge position and requires a reliable, responsible, and flexible individual. You must be RCVS registered, competent with sole charge, have excellent communication skills and be able to perform routine surgery. You will be expected to provide high standards of client and patient care and to fit in to this happy team. You will have access to advice and support from the Vet at our main practice as required.

Additional work will be available during holidays. Also, if you did want to work more days per week, we can look into helping to arrange this at nearby practices.

Our client have an opening for a vet with a minimum of 12 months experience to join them. Candidates much be happy with some routine surgeries, ideally, healthy young bitch spays as well as handling their own medical cases. Practice interests include: cardiology Orthopaedics General surgery Feline medicine. The practice is very well equipped as you would expect. They have a brand new digital x-ray and ultrasound, dental x-ray, ECG, full labs, endoscopes. The successful candidate can choose to work over 4 or 5 days id working a 40 hour full time week. They will also only do 1 in 5 weekends and when they do, they receive the time back in lieu. There are no OOH's duties. Their package includes: Generous salary up to £48k 25 days holiday plus bank holidays. CPD budget to include certificate funding RCVS and VDS fees paid. and, much more. The practice is located in a small town in Hampshire with excellent road and rail links. The clinic is situated within 5 minutes drive of the M3, J5, and 3-minute walk from the local train station, which is on the mainline to London Waterloo/ Southampton Central. The practice has a very loyal client base, with over 70% of their clients enrolled in their pet health club. The clinic is a thriving practice, which has expanded over the last 2 years. The practice is well equipped with digital x-rays, dental x-ray, brand new Esaote MyLabX7 ultrasound, K-Laser and in house IDEXX lab. The team are currently planning to move to a new purpose-built building which will be equipped with a CT scanner and multiple theatres. The team consists of 8 Veterinary Surgeons, 7 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 2 Student Veterinary Nurses, 2 Animal Care Assistants, and 4 Receptionists. They actively encourage the team to further their skill set. If you want to do a certificate, they can support and fund your aspirations. There are also existing certificate holders in companion animal behaviour and cardiology and there is a visiting orthopaedic and soft tissue specialists. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out consultations and surgery working collaboratively with a strong team of experienced vets and nurses to give the highest levels of patient care. There is no sole charge the ensure that the team to ensure everyone feels supported at all times. The full-time rota will include working on average 4.5 days per week with a share in the Saturday mornings which are fully staffed by 2 vets, 2 nurses and receptionists and a day off is given when working Saturdays. The role is full time for 40 hours per week, workign 4 days and weekends on a 1:3 rota, Saturdays mornings only. Our client has a group of 3 practices in the Salisbury area. They pride themselves on excellent client care and put the patient at the heart of everything they do. The practice has all the usual equipment, including digital x-ray, dental x-ray, ultrasound, full blood machines and a separate cat ward. There is a small friendly, supportive and relaxed team consists of excellent Veterinary Surgeons and an amazing support team, which includes experienced nurses. The client encourages clinical freedom and case continuity and can provide help and support from the experienced team, whilst developing skills in the practice. There are experienced Veterinary Nurses who are present in all consults to help restrain and price. The nurses also do everything they can do within the guidelines, such as taking bloods, placing catheters, perform scale and polish, take x-rays, stitch etc, which allows vets to focus on the patients and cases. The client strives for a good balance of consulting and operating, with 15-minute appointments. A normal day consists of 2 hours consulting in the morning, followed by surgical cases booked for the day. There is then a further 3-hour consulting period in the evening. This allows you to have case continuity and a balanced schedule. The usual working week is 42 hours over 4 days with 1 in 3 Saturdays (9am-3pm) and they are open to discussing part time or flexible hours. No Sundays or OOH work. Our clients practice is very close to Andover town centre, with a big garden that surrounds the whole building, so you can enjoy breaks in the fresh air. The practice has a large parking area and the reception has two separated waiting areas, one for dogs and one smaller for cats. Andover is a medium sized market town surrounded by beautiful countryside, with great connections to airports, London, Southampton and beaches are just one hour away by car. You will be joining a team of 7 Veterinary Surgeons, 7 Veterinary Nurses, 1 VCA, a Practice Manager and 4 receptionists. The vets are all general practitioners, some of them already hold or are in the process of certificates in different areas. Each member of staff is encouraged and supported to increase their own skills and knowledge in everyone's main area of interest. This is a full time position working 4.5 days per week and will include one night on call per week and one weekend every five. The clinic is proud to offer their own out of hours, giving clients and their pets continuity in their care. Vets have a half day off following the weeknight on call, working on a four-and-a-half-day rota per week. Vets will not need to stay on the premises while on out of hours shift. There is a on-call mobile phone where clients can call vets if needed. You will assess first over the phone and then decided if you need to meet the client at the clinic, or the case can be safely seen the following day during normal hours. There is always have a Veterinary Nurse on duty alongside and vets have the whole Friday off after doing a weekend on call. They never work longer than 8.5hours a day, including one hour of lunch. This role is for a Senior Vet to become part of a small leadership team, undertaking management tasks, including HR & KPIs.
