My Client is a Cutting edge practice, located in an historic town in Buckinghamshire.
Due to growth this lovely team need to recruit a new small animal surgeon to join them in the either a full or part time capacity.
the right candidate will be confident and enthusiastic in first opinion practice and would enjoy clinical freedom to work up cases to the highest standard.
With great facilities and a proactive team, there is also the prospect of improving your skills in orthopedic surgery, as there is a particular interest in this practice and the partner is more than happy to mentor in this area and would support a certificate in the future if desired
The rota would involve 1:5 weekends, but there are NO OOH's required as the practice uses an excellent OOH's provider

Our client is a 2 site practice who is looking for an experienced vet to join their team near Buckingham. The practice prides itself on providing high standards of animal, client and staff care. They have the ability to be able to manage the majority of cases “in-house” and only refer when appropriate. They invest in CPD/ training, staff and equipment so that they can provide the best service. The practice provide a “365 24/7” service with their OOH’s and hospitalization. The cases are discussed amongst vets and nurses and there is always backup available should it be required. The practice is fairly comprehensively equipped in order to meet their aims. Their facilities include Digital x-ray, doppler US, In-house Lab, ECG, tonometry, anaesthetic monitoring etc. Facilities include: Laparoscopy – most spays are done “keyhole”, Arthroscopy, Otoscopy, flexible scopes AO Orthopaedics- air driven Mini-drivers etc TTA Rapid - cruciate Dental x-ray at both sites BI-polar diathermy both sites Ethicon Endo-surgery (goes with the laparoscopy etc) Harmonic scalpel En-seal (Splenectomy in 5 minutes) This is a full-time role working a 4.5 day week and the working hours are 8.30pm – 6pm. Weekends are on a 1:4 rota . This is made up of consults at branch surgery 2hrs (am) and 1 hours (pm) at branch surgery Saturday and Sunday, the remainder will be on call. There will be a nurse on call throughout the weekend. When you have worked a weekend, you will then get an extra day off in week after weekend on call. After a weekend on call the extra day is generally a Friday to make a long weekend. The position includes 1 night a week on call, generally you will do the same night each week on call and have the same day to create a routine Mon-Thurs. The client has a part-time vet who works Friday night each week. You will be joining a team of 4 FTE Vets, 5 RVN’s plus 2 trainees The role includes 5 weeks’ holiday a year (25 working days plus 8 bank holidays) 2 Bank Holidays worked each year- days off in lieu. Salary commensurate with experience/ability – reviewed annually, RCVS, BSAVA, BVA membership, VDS Insurance, 5 days CPD - 1500 allowance minimum – more can be available on discussion. This lovely client based just 50 minutes from Central London is a busy SA and equine practice with 10 Small Animal Vets, 4 Equine Vets and 17 RVN's This Tier 2 RCVS accredited site has excellent facilities and offers colleagues clinical freedom and varied caseload including exotics, with great team spirit and support. Due to expansion the team are looking for 2 full-time experienced SA vets, ideally with surgical or exotics interests, to work a 4 day week plus OOH on a 1:8 rota, but with no overnight cover.
