Lead Vet, West Sussex Coast, Up to £75k, First Opinion Practice, No OOH's
The practice has recently undergone lots of improvements and modernisation in both equipment and environment.
The successful candidate will lead the nursing team plus one other vet, who are client are currently recruiting for. With a small team like this the role may suit a vet with experience of some mentoring but has perhaps not held the "Lead/Head Vet" title. The role involves of course the delivery of clinical excellence, but also some aspects of practice and business management that may be a new skill. This will be supported by the regional team and they will also absorb much of the traditional administrative burden.
Candidates need to be confident all rounders in terms of soft tissue surgery and medical cases. Ideally they will be looking to start a certificate or be part way through. Our client is happy to fund certificates and buy out training agreements. Candidates will also be team and client focused and have an interest in mentoring other vets and nurses.
Whilst the preference is for a full time (4 day week plus 1:6 Weekends) our client can consider other shift patterns two. We would be happy to discuss candidate needs with our client.

Full or Part Time Veterinary Surgeon for Independent Practice near Crawley, West Sussex
This well established independent client based South of Crawley are looking for a new Veterinary surgeon to join their team.
The practice is very well equipped, forward thinking and allows their staff to have the clinical freedom to provide the very best care and treatment plans tailored to each individual patient & client. There is a friendly, happy working environment with an excellent, supportive team.
This is a full-time position with weekends on a rota. The client provides its own out of hours providing all round care to their patients. Out of hours are currently 1 in 6 rota, with one weekday off per week. The ideal candidate must be happy to work an out of hours rota but should be aware that the client is not an emergency clinic and have a nurse on site to care for in patients and to help the vet on duty. The on call vet is not 'awake' all night and can be at home, if local or the practice can provide onsite accommodation. The vet can sleep and take emergency phone calls, only seeing clients if an emergency. The current vets say that their night duties are quiet, they are rarely called out.
The team may also have the capacity for a part-time vet should you be interested in submitting an application.
The client offers a competitive salary, dependent on experience, with five weeks holiday per year, plus Bank holidays (or day in lieu). CPD is encouraged & funded and specialisms are welcomed.
The client is keen to hear from either UK trained/qualified vets or vets that have at least one year’s full time UK working experience. All candidates must have excellent spoken and written English.
The location of this practice, with regular trains to the coast or the capital (only 45 mins away) is ideal for a great work life balance.

SA Vet Required for Large Certificated Team in West Sussex, New graduates considered
My client are a large purpose built practice based in West Sussex close to the southern coast towns of both Worthing and Brighton and are within an hours train journey into Central London.
The practice has been established for 8 years and grown quickly to a team of 25, including 7 vets, 8 RVNs.
Of the 7 Vets 3 are Medicine certificate holders and the others have interests ranging from Surgery, Exotics, Opthalmology, ultrasonography and acupuncture, allowing the team to treat a range of cases inhouse.
Several of the nurses have nursing diplomas including in anaesthesia and feline medicine and all nurses are extremely efficient and their skills are fully utilised in the practice.
