My client are a large purpose built practice based in West Sussex close to the southern coast towns of both Worthing and Brighton and are within an hours train journey into Central London.
The practice has been established for 8 years and grown quickly to a team of 25, including 7 vets, 8 RVNs.
Of the 7 Vets 3 are Medicine certificate holders and the others have interests ranging from Surgery, Exotics, Opthalmology, ultrasonography and acupuncture, allowing the team to treat a range of cases inhouse.
Several of the nurses have nursing diplomas including in anaesthesia and feline medicine and all nurses are extremely efficient and their skills are fully utilised in the practice. The strength and experience of the nursing team is the key factor in allowing the vets to do the job that they do. The team also has two fantastic trainee nurses supported by a clinical coach and an animal nursing assistant with an animal management diploma.
The whole team have a passion for providing the highest standard of care and are invested in providing the best possible client and patient journey. They take great pride in the surgery in terms of keeping it well organised, clean and tidy which makes for a nice working environment and a welcoming space for clients too. They work closely with several local charities as animal welfare is a key driver.

The ideal candidate will be a small animal vet with good experience, who can take be proactive in all parts of clinical practice, and deliver excellent client care. however we welcome applications from new or recent graduates as the experience in the team allows mentorship. And have also won 'new graduate practice of the year' too
They are able to be flexible for the right person with regard to hours, based on 40 hours a week but there would be 1:4 weekends on a rota basis, but no OOH's.

You will be joining a clinical team of 7 Vets and 8 qualified nurses, several of whom have nursing diplomas in including in anaesthesia and feline medicine. Several qualified nurses have administration roles within the practice including ensuring all insurance claims are submitted and managed appropriately.
The nurses are well-trained and extremely efficient, and their skills are fully utilised in the practice.The Practice Owner is proud that the strength and experience of the nursing team is the key factor in allowing the vets to do the job that they do. The most common compliment of the practice made by visiting locums and specialist surgeons is the quality of the nursing team. The team also two fantastic trainee nurses supported by a clinical coach and an animal nursing assistant with an animal management diploma.
The nurses prepare everything in advance, catheterise patients, induce and intubate patients under instruction and collect blood samples. The nurses run their own consultations which include weight clinics, behavioural clinics and laser treatment.
