The practice is kitted out with all the modern facilities you would expect including ultrasound and X-Ray, but also boasts orthopedic kit, various scopes and piped oxygen etc
The 3 vet team are surrounded by another 9 support staff and have interests in orthopedics, dermatology and rescue work
This is a full time opportunity with weekends on a rota

Our clients practice based near Hatfield, Herts are looking for an enthusiastic and confident Veterinary Surgeon with an interest in surgery to join their friendly and welcoming team.
This is a busy and well-respected single site practice with a good local reputation - a lot of new clients are referrals from existing customers. The small and friendly team of part and full time staff is comprised of 3 vets, 3 RVNs and 2 SVNs as well as 4 reception/administrative staff. This is a Training Practice and are really invested in the development of their own SVNs as well as vet students on EMS, as they are passionate about investing in people.
This is a well-equipped practice with recently upgraded digital x-ray facilities (including dental), ultrasound, Idexx blood machines and separate dog and cat wards. They are also a silver accredited ISFM Cat Friendly Clinic.
A number of staff have outside interests in various animal charities and volunteer or raise funds for them, such as Street Vet, the RSPCA, Cats Protection and London Colney Hedgehog Rescue. They also participate in the C4 neutering scheme for cats. Their ethos is to provide tailored clinical care to patients while also encompassing empathetic and personalised care to clients in a friendly and fun working environment.
You will get the opportunity to operate every day as well as consult and the practice is looking for a candidate with a surgical bias to complement the rest of their veterinary team. This is a small practice, which allows for good case continuity and the opportunity to develop productive relationships with clients.
As the client is looking for the right person, they are open to applications from full and part time candidates with flexible hours to suit your needs. The rota provides a good work life balance with an average 41 hour week (consisting of 4 weekdays 9am-7pm with 1 day off each week), 1 in 3 Saturday mornings and no on call. There will be occasional sole charge.
This role would suit an RCVS registered vet with a surgical bias who is confident with routine surgical and dental procedures as well as non-routine soft tissue surgery. You must be a motivated team player who shares their values of providing good quality care to clients and patients, with the ability to offer flexible treatment options as needed. The practice are happy to support a surgical certificate for the right candidate.
