Lead Vet - Central Kent Upto £70k

Our client in Central Kent require an experienced veterinary surgeon to join their team in a Lead Vet capacity. The successful candidate will have around 3-5 years experienced gained in the UK and will be looking to progress into their their first senior role or already in a senior vet position. For vets venturing into their first role, support would be offered to all those applicants nervous of this next step.

The team of vets is 3 strong and all vets work a 4 day week with a one in three Saturday rota. There are no OOH's with this position. There are 6 in the nursing team including students.

Practice equipment include digital X-Ray, endoscopy and ultrasound. In addition, access is easily available to MRI and CT.

CPD will be supported in any small animal discipline up to certificate level.

Our client is a 100% small animal practice on the Kent coast. This is a really friendly team with lovely clients and a good rota, so a good work life balance is achievable. The practice is 20 minutes from Canterbury and has great links to London. The practice offers a varied case load with a newly refurbished ops area. It is a lovely place to work and regular staff socials arranged. The client is looking for a small animal practitioner to cover 9 months maternity leave, starting at the end of July. Consults and surgical duties. 3 days a week (Monday, Tuesday and Friday), 9 hours a day(9-6 or 10-7), 1 in 5 weekends with a day off in lieu. Our client is currently looking for a small animal veterinary surgeon to join their large multi vet team. This is very popular, busy first opinion general practice. They also handle a variety of cases including equine and some farm but they are ideally are looking for a small animal veterinary surgeon. The practice is a well-equipped, purpose-built clinic with X-ray, Ultrasound, Endoscopy, ECG, Laboratory and surgical facilities. A strong team of nursing, reception and clerical staff provide round the clock support. This is also a RCVS Tier 2 training practice. The position is for full time, permanent, approximately 40 hours per week. No on call/ooh on the small animal side of practice. Weekends will be on a 1:4 rota, Saturday only 8am - 4pm with the following Friday off. You will be joining a team of 2 x Managing Partners, who are both vets, 3 x additional vets and 7 RVNs. You will be based at the main site for 80% of the time and then 20% at one of the main branches, so you must be able to drive. All levels of experience will be considered however this is a busy practice and you will need to be confident, and able to lean quickly, support and mentorship can be given to candidates with limited experience but ideally you will be able to perform surgery such as all types of neuters and basic surgery with no or very little support. You will need to be able to drive/have transport for this position as there are branches. There will be some sole charge but there are Clinical Directors/partners on duty as back up. Salary based on experience, CPD - 5 days plus 1000. 28 days holiday plus BH.
