Lead Small Animal Vet, North Norfolk Coast, Routine Experience Required

Our client on the North Norfolk coast have a vacancy for a Lead Vet. The role will involve some sole charge, so it is important that all candidates are comfortable with routine soft tissue surgery and medical cases.

The role would suit an ambitious vet with an interest in leading a team, developing a practice and learning some of the business aspects of practice life.

The practice is a well equipped with digital ultrasound. More experienced vets and certificate holders are available for support with complicated/new caseload and the ability to refer is of course available.

There will also be a requirement to work at an additional local branch on occasion as well. There are no OOH's and the weekend work is 1:6 with a 4 day week as standard.

The successful candidate will be rewarded with a package up to 65k.

Our client is looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Clinical Director to join their friendly team and work alongside their current CD. The ideal candidate will be a confident small animal clinician who is passionate about first opinion veterinary medicine with good communication skills and a drive to move the practice forward. The practice is situated on the North Norfolk Coast, an area of outstanding natural beauty, with its award winning beaches and beautiful countryside. The historic city of Norwich is only 45 minutes away, with good links to London The role is working up to a 4 day week, time varies between consulting & operating. 1:4 Saturday morning consults, 1:8 weekend on call and average 1 night per week on call. The team pride themselves on providing a first class level of first opinion small animal veterinary care. Both of their modern practices sit in ideal locations and have been valued parts of the communities for many years. The team enjoy discussing cases with each other in order to maximise individual skillsets and interests, and are always keen to stay up to date with the latest advances in veterinary medicine and surgery. They currently have one Advanced Practitioner within the practice, and are always welcoming the clinical team to expand on their skills and knowledge, so would happily support certificate training. They currently have 5 full time and 1 part time vets across both practices, with an Advanced Practitioner in Feline Medicine. The vets are also supported by an experienced team of 5 qualified RVNs, 2 SVNs and 1 ANA. The support staff are also really experienced, and form an invaluable part of the team. As a Clinical Director you must be happy to support and guide new graduates. This is a super friendly team, and even throughout the pandemic have been creating ways to keep their spirits high. Their latest event is a weekly 'Bake Off'! The team are looking to employ an additional experienced vet, who is capable of sole charge (out of hours and weekend consulting) and comfortable with a range of first opinion surgeries. The vets work closely with each other, offering advice to their colleagues and working up cases together to achieve the best possible results for all patients. The team see a varied caseload and the Veterinary Surgeons have clinical freedom and are well supported by proactive and experienced Nurses and Receptionists. The practice has a wide range of diagnostic and surgical equipment including state of the art dental suite, equipped with top of the range dentistry unit and dental radiography. Fully equipped in-house laboratory, digital radiography, ultrasound unit and flexible endoscope. A range of surgical instruments and equipment, including bi-polar electrocautery and suction unit as well as an oscillometric blood pressure and multiparameter monitor. Ophthalmic equipment includes tonopen and slit lamp. Cat only ward, ISFM silver award, strong emphasis on patient care. The team are keen to recruit an experienced veterinary surgeon to join their fantastic team. You will have the opportunity to experience both consultations and surgeries at the main practice and consulting only at the branch surgery. Professional development is important to them and they can offer a generous CPD budget. You must be confident with consultations and able to do basic surgery unassisted. Full time Veterinary Surgeons work a 4-day week, although part time applications will also be considered. There are no out of hours requirements.
