SA Vet (mainly consulting role)

Steph Ward
Our client who have a 4 branch, small animal practice based in North Kent are a private, family owned business that has been practicing for over 35 years and employ over 55 members of staff across the group, 12 of whom are vets.

They are currently looking for an experienced, friendly and approachable vet to join the team and work across two of their branches. The vets usually work four days during the week, having one weekday off each week, however, this role would be unique to the group in that they are looking for a vet to work 5 days a week, 39 hours per week (Monday-Friday) plus weekends with a preference for consults over surgery.

They envisage this to be :
Monday - 9am to 7.15pm - Consults
Tuesday – 8.30am until the completion of the ops list
Wednesday - 9am to 7.15pm - Consults (Sole charge day)
Thursday - 9am to 7.15pm – Consults (Sole charge day)
Friday - 9am to 7.15pm - Consults

Weekend wise all the branches open for a 9am start and weekend cover is normally worked across the group covering a 6 week rota consisting of the following:
1. Saturday only 9am-12pm
2. Weekend off
3. Saturday only 9am-12pm
4. Weekend off
5. Saturday 9am-4pm plus Sunday 9am-12pm
6. Weekend off

They offer 15-minute consults, all by appointment.

The branches have a lovely team which consist of qualified nurses, experienced receptionists and a branch manager, all of who ensure the smooth running of the branch. The branches have in-house laboratory, digital x-ray processor and the use of ultrasound facilities.

They are looking for a confident vet who is happy with sole charge work and is surgically confident. You would have the back up of the vets in other surgeries if needed too. The ideal candidate would need to be a team player and to support other staff members in the course of their work as well as ensure that our clients are given an excellent and friendly service at all times.
