Full Time Small Animal Vet - Near Gillingham OPEN TO NEW GRADUATES

Our client, located between Chatham and Gillingham in Kent, are looking for a Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join their team.

They take pleasure in being able to offer a full range of first opinion veterinary services at affordable prices, without compromising on care. The practice is in a superb location being just a 5 minute walk from Norbury train station. The clinic has light, large and airy consult rooms, dedicated x-ray and ultrasound room; modern theatre and prep area; in house lab; dental machine and separate cattery and kennels. They also have the tools for basic orthopaedics available for suitably experienced candidates.

The 5 Vet team are supported by 6 RVN's, a wonderful reception team and a dedicated Practice Principal. They have an encouraging and supportive culture in practice and are very much focussed on their team's well-being - they are often treated by the lovely Practice Principal who frequently provides costa coffee and cakes for all staff.

The role provides a varied consulting caseload that will allow the less experienced candidates to hone their skills but yet will keep the experienced vet candidates stimulated. Team work is key in this team with knowledge sharing on cases encouraged to ensure good patient outcomes. The team are also supported by VetCT tele-radiology as well as unlimited VetCT telemedicine support for those trickier cases.

Surgery is on a rotational basis within the team with an interesting mix of soft tissue surgery, imaging and dentistry planned for surgical days, this is supported by a long standing and experienced nursing team. They also have the tools for basic orthopaedics available for suitably experienced candidates.

Time is allocated for admin on a daily basis to allow for calls etc which allows you to concentrate on your patients during consult time, without the pressure of needing to squeeze admin in between.

The ideal candidate will be a Registered Veterinary Surgeon with a great work ethic and excellent communication skills. The ability to work well in a team, have a passion for all aspects of veterinary care and a sense of humour is essential. The team are also looking for a positive can-do attitude, and that you are an active team player.

The full-time role is working 5 days per week, 1:3 Saturdays, no Sundays or OOH. However, the team are flexible and will happily consider the 40 hours worked over 4 days with 3 days off.

The area of Chatham/Gillingham has excellent transport links and has a direct train to London that takes just 50 minutes.
