Referrals Veterinary Nurse for Fantastic Hospital in Gloucestershire

This client are an RCVS approved Veterinary Hospital with a team of friendly vets and qualified nurses who are available 24/7 with onsite care.

The team are looking for a Nurse who has referral experience to join them for a 12 month maternity cover to start in August - the role is a 5 day a week position working 8 hour shifts. Shifts range from the earliest starting at 7.30am and the latest finishing at 10pm. Working 1:8 weekends with time off in lieu after. On call shifts minimal.

As a referrals nurse you will rotate through the referral disciplines which include surgery, medicine, ophthalmology and cardiology. The team see a range of interesting cases and patients. You will assist specialists in delivering anaesthesia, nursing care and chemotherapy to these patients also.

The group is going through an expansion to provide new facilities and equipment for the team. This includes new ward areas, new prep room and theatres and new medicine facilities. We also provide onsite CT scanning for our patients. This is an exciting time to join the team.

Currently a team of 8 specialist clinicians in referrals who are supported by 3 interns and 7 first opinion vets. The nursing team is currently 24 strong with many holding additional qualifications and certificates which helps to support and train the more junior members of the team.

The ideal candidate will be willing to rotate through disciplines or have a heavy surgical bias. You should have the ability to work well in a close team structure as well as independently. Strong, experienced nursing candidates with no referral experience will be considered, if you have a keen interest to develop your career further within the referral sector.

Our client has two practices in the Gloucester area and are looking for a Full or Part Time Small Animal Registered Veterinary Nurse to the team. The practice has recently been refurbished to a high standard and they need a dynamic, enthusiastic vet to join them and contribute to the success of the practice. They have the usual equipment that you would expect including digital and dental radiography, ultrasound, multiparameter monitoring and more. You will be joining two other vets, one other RVN, 1 VCA and a Practice Manager. The role will include nurse clinics, inpatient care, anaesthesia, stock control, laboratory and schedule three duties. The shift pattern, working 4 x 10-hour shifts or 5 x 8-hour shifts, this will include a Saturday morning rota. No out of hours or bank holidays. Our client is a friendly, warm and staff orientated practice which is located in the beautiful Cotswolds, close to Cheltenham, Bristol and Bath. They are now looking for a full or part time Registered veterinary Nurse to join their team. The team work closely together interdepartmentally and support staff in reaching their career goals. They foster open communication and carry out regular meetings practice wide and openly encourage engagement and ideas from all team members. You will join the nursing team in providing excellent patient and client care with day-to-day emphasis on Nurse Clinics working closely with all departments. You will build lasting relationships with clients and their pets, maximising client retention. You will help develop these nurse clinics to include, but not limited to, weight management clinics, senior pet clinics, OA clinics, puppy/kitten clinics, end of life consultations and diabetic clinics as well as see routine post op checks, 2nd vaccinations, triage, microchips, nails clips, flea and worm checks etc. This is a teaching practice, where nurses are encouraged to provide clinical coaching for students. The client is open to full or part time applications with hours and days to suit your needs. You will also be required to take part in an OOH weekend and bank holiday rota. Flexible working hours and/or job shares will be considered. Hours are negotiable preferably between 24-40 per week, these can be flexible between the hours of 8am and 8pm on a monthly rota basis. . You must be a Registered Veterinary nurse, preferably with clinic nursing experience. Fantastic communication skills and being able to work under your own initiative is essential as well as a passion for customer care. The clinical team consists of 10 vets, 14 nurses, 4 VCA’s and students. The team fully works up medical cases and performs advanced surgical procedures e.g. TTA, perineal urethrostomy and laparoscopic procedures. The hospital is well equipped with laparoscopy, endoscopy, ultrasound, radiography, echocardiography and on site lab with brand new biochemistry and haematology machines.
