Full or Part Time Small Animal Vet - near Gloucester

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full or part-time veterinary surgeon to join our client’s hospital in the beautiful Cotswolds, close to Cheltenham, Bristol and Bath.

The practice is a very friendly, high standard first opinion team that bridges the gap between standard first opinion practice and referral institutions by fully working up medical cases and carrying out advanced surgical procedures e.g. TTA, perineal urethrostomy and laparascopic procedures. The hospital is well equipped with laparoscopy, endoscopy, ultrasound, radiography, echocardiography and on-site lab with brand new biochemistry and haematology machines. The practice actively encourage you to develop your interest in any area that you are interested in. The practice hold weekly veterinary team meetings to discuss cases and gain further understanding including presentations by a referral clinician. The client also has links to a local referral hospital nearby where CT and advice is readily available.

This would be a full or part time position which would include an OOH service, with support from the nurse team stay on site and take all calls. Vets work a 1 in 6 weekend rota. The team includes certificate holders and those currently working towards certificates. The practice encourage and support development of your personal aspirations as part of a progressive and experienced medical and surgical team. Competitive salary package. CPD is actively encouraged and generously funded. Package includes 5-week flexible holiday plus bank holidays and your birthday off every year. Generous days in lieu after weekend working. Good workload but allowing for an excellent work-life balance.

The ideal candidate would have 2+ years experience with small animals. You must have MRCVS registration. Certificate qualification would be beneficial but not essential. You must be an enthusiastic veterinary surgeon to work in a friendly, relaxed and supportive 9 vet team as part of a hospital status practice. This position would particularly suit someone with an interest in internal medicine or who is working towards a medicine certificate.
