Full Time Small Animal Vet with a Medicine Bias - near Norwich

Our client has an exciting and expanding practice, located in beautiful Norfolk. They are now looking for a Full Time Experienced Small Animal Vet who has a passion for internal medicine to join them.

They pride themselves on providing great service and care, maintaining high clinical standards and offering a rewarding and progressive career. The practice accept certificate-level referrals in a range of disciplines and have their own out-of-hours service on-site. There are excellent facilities, including laparoscopy and are embarking on building a large extension to facilitate CT. There are also 2 super branch practices which offer a friendly local service to their loyal clients.

There is a large team of vets (30 in total), nurses and support staff. They are a nurse training practice and offer a 2-year first-opinion internship for new graduates and have multiple vets and nurses who have achieved and are training for certificates; there is an emphasis on ongoing development and learning. The team are enthusiastic and ambitious to continue to improve the services and level of care they can offer. The team is friendly and sociable and love working together (consistent feedback from appraisals every year is that the best thing about the practice is the fantastic team); they enjoy monthly team meetings and regular social events and activities.

You will be working at the busy First Opinion and Referral hospital practice alongside the fantastic team of certificate holders (in multiple disciplines as well as internal medicine), who will provide full support and stimulating case discussion. The medicine team are responsible for inpatient management and internal and external medicine referrals. The role will involve inpatient shifts and internal medicine work-ups, as well as usual First Opinion duties, and will be tailored to suit the successful applicant’s level of experience.

The full-time is a 4-day week, with 1 in 4 weekends. There is also the opportunity for participation in out-of-hours shifts, depending on experience. This role will suit an enthusiastic vet with a passion for internal medicine, who has at least 2 years’ experience and either holds an internal medicine certificate or is keen to study towards one. Great teamwork and a positive attitude are essential; full support will be given for development of clinical knowledge and skills as appropriate.
