Julie Powell

Our client has a close-knit group of PSS accredited clinics which have been established both independently and as part of a larger group for well over 30 years and many staff are still with them. They are now looking for a Full Time Small Animal Vet to join the team on a Monday to Friday basis.

Due to being well-established, they have excellent relationships with other clinical groups in the area. They pride themselves on being able to deliver a high standard of care, to help them do that they have excellent facilities available to them including labs and surgical/dental facilities within each branch and they also have access to dental x-ray/ultrasonography/ophthalmic and orthopaedic kit across the group. Clsoe to the city centre, you are just a 20-minute drive will take you to Cannock Chase, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with biking and hiking trails as well as an outdoor activity centre. The nursing Branch Lead has worked at the clinic for many years and knows the clinic and local area inside out as well as the customers.

Birmingham is the youngest city in Europe with 40% of the population under 25, the city has lifted its own game by growing around this new generation. It has more Michelin restaurants than any other city in the UK apart from London and a thriving music scene, multicultural Brum really is the place to be.

There is a growing team of 1 vet and 1 veterinary care assistant, who both work alongside an experienced branch lead, allowing you to concentrate on your cases. They strongly encourage staff to pursue any specific interests and a big part of their ethos is the belief in further learning for everyone and they have opportunities to progress into management if this is of interest. As a team, they hold monthly vet meetings, a WhatsApp clinical discussion group and colleagues are only ever a phone call away.
