Our client has been established in the local read near Lowestoft for the past 100 years. They are a 100% small animal practice and pride themselves on offering high quality care for pets and owners. The practice is modern and purpose-built practice with facilities including digital x-ray, ultrasound and endoscopy. There is a supportive team of 6 Vets, 3 RVN's, 2 SVN's, 3 ANA's and 9 additional support staff.

The client has an exciting opportunity for a full time Veterinary Surgeon to join the team. The rota allows for a great work/life balance. You will be working a four day week and you will be required to perform the duties of a practicing vet working to high clinical standards. The weekend on-call rota is 1 in 5, with one or two nights on call a week.

The ideal candidate will be a confident, experienced vet, who is as comfortable in theatre as in the consulting room. Patient care is at the heart of the practice, so they are looking for a team member that is keen to maintain a high clinical standard. Communication skills and team work are also of paramount importance – there is such a supportive team already in place and they would be looking for a new member to share this ethos.

Our client’s clinic is located just North of Colchester surrounded by attractive Suffolk landscape which you can from the practice. The clinic has all the usual equipment including x-rays, dental x-rays, ultrasound, ECG, TPLO and other basic orthopaedic kits. The team currently have 7 Veterinary Surgeons, including one cardiology certificate holder and two studying for certificates in dentistry and ECC, one specialist in oral surgery and dentistry and 9 Registered Veterinary Nurses. They are now looking for a dedicated Head Veterinary Surgeon to join them. The ideal candidate will be confident in carrying out routine surgeries and be interested in mentoring new graduates as well as maintaining and improving clinical standards. You will be comfortable with some lone working as whilst this position is primarily working alongside other vets, there would be some sole charge work on weekends when required. The client is open to both full/part-time applications for this role, with the full-time rota being 40 hours per week over 4 days, between 9:00 am-7:00 pm. There is a 1:3 weekend rota but no out of hours. The salary for this role is up to 65,000 depending on experience. The candidate will have a special interest in surgery and internal medicine to look after the discipline and grow in that area. The candidate must also have an interest in leadership. Our client in beautiful Norfolk are looking for a Clinical Director to work with their team and help them to be the best they can be. The role is to work with the teams 2 existing Clinical Directors and their wonderful Practice Managers to manage the groups 3 branch practices. The groups full-time vets work a 4-day week (36 hours) and participate in a 1 in 10-12 out-of-hours rota (covering out-of-hours until 10pm weekdays, and 5pm weekends) with a Friday off the week after a weekend on-call. The current Clinical Directors get 1 day a week of admin time, but this is flexible if you feel that you need more, or that you’d rather spend more of your time in clinical work. In addition to our two very experienced practice managers, the team also have a fantastic admin team across all three branches. The practices are in a great location for getting into London, Cambridge, or Norwich, with good rail links to the rest of the UK, and Stansted and Southend airports both within easy reach. Our client based near Ipswich is looking for a Full time Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join them. Ideally you will have a flexible working approach as you will be asked to work across both of the sites which are based 6 miles apart. The clinic has all the usual toys including great x-ray and ultrasound facilities, separate cat and dog kennels and theatre facilities where orthopaedic work is being carried out. Two vets with around 30 years’ experience each, another with 10 years’ experience and a new grad who has just joined the team, so you can guarantee you will have a lot of support. In addition there are 4 RVN's and another 3 who will qualify this year, plus a large support team of VCA's and receptionists to make a vet’s life easy. They are now looking for two vets to share between the two sites, you will have a focus in either of the below; Surgical: you will be an experienced surgeon able to take advanced soft tissue and orthopaedic procedures, with some consulting depending on volume of surgical work. Clinical: Keen diagnostic imaging and a very strong bias towards customer care and high clinical standards. The focus for both will be to help our existing teams provide great customer and patient care. You will be at certificate level or keen to work towards this, or they would also consider a very experienced first opinion colleague who wants to provide great service towards the end of their career. Full time shifts would be 40 hours across 4 days. 1:4 Saturdays recovered as TOIL the following Friday, so you get a lovely long weekend. No out of hours work required. The rota is fixed several months in advance (unless in exceptional circumstances) and you will only work at one site per day. Salary would be up to 60,000 depending on experience. Our client in Suffolk with 3 well-equipped branches are looking for Veterianry Surgeons of all levels to work at each of their surgeries. All of the practices have access to digital Xray, operating theatre, orthopedic equipment, ultrasound, in house blood machines, urinalysis and the main branch close to Bury St Edmunds is just about to be fitted out with a blood gas machine too. You must be confident with UK general practice and have previous surgical experience and ideally looking to work full time = a 4-day week (36 hours) and contribute to the weekend and out of hours rota. This currently equates to working one first on call and one second on call weekend in every 11 - 12 week cycle. Every two weeks you will be scheduled to staff one first on call evening until 10pm and one second on call evening until 10pm. After 10pm Monday-Thursday, from 6pm on Friday and from 5pm on Saturdays and Sundays our out of hours work goes to a local out of hours provider. No permanent accommodation available but use of a flat during on call shifts is possible if it’s not being used by a locum vet. However the team can be flexible to a degree with what candidates might want and part time applications can be considered. As could flexible inclusion into the out of hours rota for the right candidate e.g. more regular Saturday morning shifts in lieu of evening and weekend work. Salary will be dependant on experience - you will be well reimbursed with extra pay for out of hours work and second on call weekend duties, plus CPD allowance, RCVS fees paid, membership to the VDS and an organisation of your choice e.g. BVA, BSAVA.
