Full Time Small Animal Vet near Hertford

Our client has is looking for an experienced full time small animal vet to join their team in Hertford.

The practice was established in 2000 and has a group of 6 practices in the local area. The team aim to provide a high quality, friendly, caring service to clients and their pets. They understand that pets are part of the family and therefore deserve the best treatment possible. The team is made up of experienced and very capable Veterinary Surgeons and Veterinary Nurses whose aim is provide the highest quality of care.

This branch is where their 24-hour emergency on-call care centre is located. This surgery has 24hour on-site nurse monitoring, to maintain all the clients’ pets care and needs. The practice has a high standard of equipment which includes the latest in Digital Radiography technology, High-speed Colour Doppler Ultrasound scanners, DVD endoscopy, High-powered Dental Scalers and Polishers, ECG & Anaesthetic monitoring equipment. The team includes a team of 8 experienced veterinary surgeons, 8 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 4 Student Veterinary Nurses and 11 Receptionists.

This is a full-time role working 40 hours a week over 4 days 9am to 7pm with 1 in 2 Saturday consult weekends, 1 Night a week on call and 1 in 7 long on call weekends - Friday evening to Monday morning. When on call you will only be called in as and when required. Mornings and afternoons are spent dealing with consultations and then inpatients and liaising with the owners regarding further work ups required or you will be on theatre duties and will complete the ops booked in for that day.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced small animal veterinary surgeon with great client communication skills, a good team ethic and able to make decisions, delegate and prioritise. Ideally the client would like to have someone with an interest in surgery and orthopaedics, but this is not essential.

Our client in the heart of Herefordshire have an exciting opportunity for a full time Veterinary Surgeon to work at their single site small animal practice. This is a busy first opinion practice with excellent standards of clinical care. You will work alongside the friendly team of vets, nurses and receptionists, both consulting and spending at least one day a week in theatre. It is a full time role working 4 days a week and 1:5 participation in the OOH weekend rota plus one night a week on call. After a weekend on call you will have a long weekend to enjoy. The team endeavour to set high standards and keep up with new developments to give the best possible service to their clients. They have up to date equipment including digital x-ray, ultrasound, in house lab machines and multiparameter anaesthetic monitoring equipment. This is a friendly team that regularly have case discussions and share ideas. They are supportive of CPD and further qualifications, as such they have one vet currently undertaking her cardiology certificate and another doing her surgery certificate. They also have a visiting cardiologist, orthopaedic specialist and ultrasonographer attend the practice. The team are looking for a highly motivated veterinary surgeon who can thrive in their practice. Confident and professional, with the ability to work seamlessly alongside the practice teams to provide a quality experience for the clients and pets alike. Our client is a progressive first opinion small animal practice set across 2 sites in rural Herefordshire countryside, in the heart of the Wye Valley. They are now looking for a Full Time Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join them. Both sites are fully equipped with digital X-ray, ultrasound, in-house lab and laser therapy. They have a varied caseload and endeavour to provide an exceptional standard of care. Outside of work, the practice is situated a stones throw from the beautiful Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons for those who like to explore and spend time in nature. The team benefits from a wealth of experience with both medicine and surgery certificate holders. They perform a range of advanced orthopaedic procedures including TPLO’s in house but have the benefit of a local referral network when required. They have a well-established loyal team ethic ensuring every team member is valued and invested in. You will be supported by a team of 3 other vets, 3 RVNs, 1 SVN and 6 support staff. Ideally you will be an enthusiastic and committed Veterinary Surgeon. Support will be provided for a new or recent graduate but the role could be equally suited to a vet with more experience looking to develop their career. This client are located 15 miles to the West of Worcester City and are looking for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join their team on a full time basis. The team are constantly striving to improve their working environment/conditions for themselves and the services they can offer their clients. Currently a 4 Vet team, all of whom are 5+ years qualified, being supported by a strong Nursing team of 7, and can therefore cater for either an experienced vet who wants to help them drive the practice forward or, equally they can support a new vet who is recently qualified and or feels they need a role with a bit of support. The Practice Manager is also a qualified Small Animal vet and so can also get involved with the clinical caseload when needed. The practice are open Monday to Friday 8:30am to 7pm. Saturday 8:30am to 1pm, but no Sundays. The vets work an average of 35.5 hours over a 4 day week with 1:4 Saturdays. Mid-week start time is 8:30am, finish times are 5:30pm/6pm/7pm depending on the weekday. On Friday, if you’re working the weekend, you’ll do the 7pm finish otherwise it’s a 5:30pm finish.
