Full Time Small Animal Vet near Glasgow

PLEASE CONTACT

Julie Powell
Our client is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Veterinary Surgeon to join their fantastic team near Glasgow.

This is a single site practice based in a modern, design award winning building overlooking the Forth and Clyde Canal. Located only 10 minutes from the centre of Glasgow, they have 4 well appointed, air-conditioned consulting rooms which are serviced by an airy waiting room and a central pharmacy area. There are separate dog and cat wards which are also air conditioned as well as an isolation area. The operating facilities comprise a central prep room and lab area, 2 operating theatres, a dedicated dental room and diagnostic imaging room. The lab area has a biochemistry and haematology machines as well as a modern microscope. Digital x-ray and ultrasound as well as endoscopy are also available in-house.

There are currently 6 vets and 5 nurses, supported by an excellent reception and back room team. One of our vets holds a ESVPS certificate in small animal surgery. They encourage the team to develop interests with an aim to create a rounded range of expertise for clients. They take pride in having a very strong team ethos and enjoy working on cases together while allowing space to work on cases individually when wanted. They recognise and foster the fact that good communication and honesty with clients is critical.

The vets split their working week between consulting, operating and medicine investigations as well as some administration tasks. The rota is designed to allow a good quality of life with evening surgeries and Saturdays equally shared. While confident surgical skills are important, they also recognise that some vets are more confident in managing medicine cases.

They are looking for an additional experienced vet to take on a range of consulting and operating roles. A candidate with a particular interest would be considered, especially if it leads to an increased scope of services available to clients. Good client relationship and interpersonal skills are essential.
