Our client is looking for an enthusiastic, friendly, vet to join their team. The client is a small animal veterinary practice based in the beautiful South Lakes region of Cumbria. The practice has an excellent veterinary team made up of 2 surgeons and 6 qualified nurses. The practice is a training site, with ample equipment, fantastic premises and a wonderful, loyal client base.

The role will include a good mixture of consulting & surgery with full clinical support. You would work just a 4 day week, normal hours would be 8.30am – 6pm. There are weekends with this position. OOH’s are shared in a 1:4 basis between three local practices. The practice employ an on call vet so there would only be very occasional holiday cover.

We have a fantastic opportunity for a small animal vet to join a large 3 branch practice in Norfolk. This is a full time role to be based at the one of the clinics, 20 miles South of Norwich, each clinic is just 30 minutes apart and all offer 15 minute consultations. They team have access to all the usual first opinion diagnostics including ultrasound, endoscopy, tonometer and x-ray machines along with anaesthetic multi parameter equipment, blood pressure machines, drip pumps and syringe drivers. The successful candidate should be friendly, self-motivated and keen to develop themselves with a generous CPD allowance and certificates supported. Other great aspects of the benefits package include pension, a healthcare scheme, a cycle to work scheme and a generous holiday allowance. Ideally you will have a medicine bias but this is not essential, however being an experienced all round small animal vet is. There is a requirement for 1 in 10 weekends on call with a nurse on site receiving the calls and triage, plus 1 weekday night on call every fortnight. A generous 6.6 week holiday allowance, pension and staff discount scheme plus RCVS, VDS and membership fees paid. The surrounding area has beautiful woodland, is close to the sea, has easy access to main roads and with London around an hour and a half away on the train. Our client has a mixed animal practice based in a Stirlingshire village but only 15 miles from Glasgow. The practice is looking for a full-time small animal vet to join their team. The team currently comprises 4 mixed practice vets and one very experienced small animal vet, one nurse, one practice manager and 2 members of staff dedicated to accounts and reception. The practice has a loyal client base and there is always time to work through cases and give clients and their animals the time they deserve. The practice is used to working with new and recent graduates but would ideally like you to have at least 6 months UK experience. They are happy provide the necessary support and back up. The practice is well equipped with the usual x ray facilities, in house blood machine scanner etc. Hours of employment are Monday to Friday 8.30 am to 6.30 pm and every second Saturday am 9am to noon. Consulting times are 9am to 10.30am, 2-3pm and 5- 6.30pm Monday to Friday and 9am to 11.30am Saturday morning. There is no on call rota. The days are made up of a mix of consults and surgery. Routine operations are normally carried out Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The practice carries out all its major soft tissue surgical procedures, enterotomies, enterectomies, pyometras, caesarian sections and some orthopaedic operations. Encouragement will be given for the successful candidate to gain further experience in surgery, if required. The candidate must be personable, friendly and polite and be able to work as part of a team. You will preferably have already obtained the qualification of OCQ (V-CA) for the purpose of completing pet passports and small animal exports. The practice is a purpose built small animal clinic, and it consists of a dedicated team which includes 1 full time Vet, 1 x part time Vet who covers both Small Animal sites, 1 qualified RVN training nurse, 1 part time RVN, 1 student nurse and 4 receptionists. The clinic has excellent facilities which include digital x-ray, full Idexx Lab, Scope, Ultrasound, ECG, Laparoscopy kit. The practice will be the only one in the area that carries out keyhole surgery. This is a full time role with shifts between 8am – 6.30pm there will be an equal share of the on call rota and 1 in 3 Saturday mornings, allowing for a great work/ life balance. The ability to have a flexible working approach would also be advantageous to provide cover for holidays and sickness. They aim to give the best service they can to their clients at a reasonable cost and the practice has a real family feel. This is a full-time position working a 4 day week with 1:3 Saturday mornings. There are no OOH/on call with this role, so a chance to have a good work/life balance. Following through of cases is encouraged - as is CPD. There would also be a real chance to explore a particular veterinary interest if you have one. A standard weekday has consults for one vet for the first half of morning before joining other vet who has been doing surgery. There are afternoon and evening consultations (14:00-15:00 and 16:30-18:30). Saturday mornings are 08.30 to 13:00, and there are two support staff. Ideally you will be a vet (MRCVS) with experience. Saturday mornings are sole charge and there will be occasions in the week when you are the only vet, but generally there will be at least two vets each day, giving opportunity to discuss cases and share expertise.
