Our client’s group was founded in 1958 and is now part of a larger group based in the Worthing area. They are now looking for a Full Time Registered veterinary Nurse to join the team.
The client is in partnership with Vetsnow, who looks after the OOH’s on site. They have approximately 100 team members across 7 sites. They are a busy hospital, dealing with 1st Opinions and Referrals. The specialist services include diagnostic imaging with on-site CT, orthopaedics, cardiology, soft tissue medicine and internal medicine. They are equipped with a fully functional Dental Suite, Endoscopic and Laparoscopic equipment. There is also an on-site laboratory; spacious staff training room and well equipped and comfortable staff break room for that much-needed cup of tea.
In this role you will be joining a team of 20 Vets and 25 Nurses including the Students. They have a team of VCA's and a Support Team which amounts to approximately another 20 members of staff. There are 2 Certificate Holders with certificates in Medicine, Cardiology, Surgery, and Diagnostic Imaging. They also have a visiting Diploma Holder, specialising in Cardiology.
The ideal candidate will be motivated to lead and who has an interest in running Practice Nurse Clinics held both at the main hospital and local branches. This exciting opportunity will suit someone who is passionate about delivering a first-class service to clients and their beloved pets. They are a large busy hospital, the advantage of this is that the nurses are able to specialise in areas that they have an interest in. They are looking for someone to take ownership of the nurse clinics. The successful candidate will need to be able to carry out varied consultations and ensure that appointments are running on time. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys client contact and building a rapport. They want someone who is willing to introduce new initiatives and ways of working into the practice. The practice nurse will work occasional days on the clinical floor, as required, helping with ward duties and in theatre.
The successful candidate will need to be a Qualified RVN, with an interest or some experience of running nurse clinics preferable. The new RVN practice nurse to be someone with the ability to communicate effectively and demonstrate great organisational skills.

This role is full time based on 40 hours per week with 1 in 4 full weekends but no OOHs. The role is also open to part-time applications but you must be willing to take a share of the weekend rota.
The great location of this practice means the team benefit from a good variety of cases and a wonderful, loyal client base. You will be joining a clinical team of 7 Vets and 8 qualified nurses, several of whom have nursing diplomas in including in anaesthesia and feline medicine. Several qualified nurses have administration roles within the practice including ensuring all insurance claims are submitted and managed appropriately.
The nurses are well-trained and extremely efficient, and their skills are fully utilised in the practice.The Practice Owner is proud that the strength and experience of the nursing team is the key factor in allowing the vets to do the job that they do. The most common compliment of the practice made by visiting locums and specialist surgeons is the quality of the nursing team. The team also two fantastic trainee nurses supported by a clinical coach and an animal nursing assistant with an animal management diploma.
The nurses prepare everything in advance, catheterise patients, induce and intubate patients under instruction and collect blood samples. The nurses run their own consultations which include weight clinics, behavioural clinics and laser treatment.
