Full Time Registered Veterinary Nurse - near Ipswich

Our client has a main Hospital, and two branch surgeries in and around the Suffolk town of Ipswich. They are looking for a Full Time Registered Veterinary Nurse to join them.

They are located close to the beautiful Suffolk countryside and nearby beaches, with good transport links to London, Cambridge and Norwich. The Tier-3 hospital provides an excellent consult, theatre, hospitalisation setting in a purpose-built site and the branch sites are consulting only. The hospital has designated canine, feline, and isolation wards, a large prep room, two operating theatres, as well as a dental suite, an imaging room and 3 consult rooms, 1 of which is nurse-led. Their equipment includes a video laparoscope, endoscope, ultrasound, digital radiography, digital dental radiography and IDEXX in-house laboratory equipment. The clinic carry out a variety of operations including laparoscopic spays and also accept referrals from local practices in surgery and medicine cases.

They currently have 12 Veterinary Surgeons, 11 Registered Veterinary Nurses, and 13 Receptionists across the 3 practices. The team is developing with 5 vets and 5 nurses holding or undertaking certificates. The practice has several relaxation areas for staff including a wellness garden currently under construction.

The successful candidate will be working alongside 7 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 2 Student Veterinary Nurses, a Veterinary Care Assistant, and a Kennel Assistant. They are looking for a forward-thinking nurse who is comfortable with a variety of responsibilities including ward, theatre, and clinic work. There would also be an opportunity to develop in the role as they allow nurses to carry out radiographs along with dental staged procedures and Schedule 3 procedures. They encourage the nurses to undertake certificates / further training should they wish.

This shift pattern for this role is 40 hours across 4 working days with regular set days off and 1:5 Saturday Mornings on a shared rota. Vets Now work out of the premises and cover any OOH requirements. They are looking for a forward-thinking nurse to fit into the friendly team, experience is preferred but not essential and newly qualified nurses will be considered.

Our client have a full-time vacancy for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join them at their Bury St. Edmunds surgery. This is a friendly and hardworking practice who aim to give all clients a personal, high quality service. CPD is encouraged, and funding for certificates is there for motivated colleagues. This is the main branch for the group of 3 practices and has 4/5 Vets and 5/6 nurses working from it. The team have access to the well-equipped branch with access to digital X-ray, operating theatre, orthopaedic equipment, ultrasound, in-house blood machines, and urinalysis. This is a full-time role, working 37.5 hours across 5 days per week plus a contribution to the weekend and out-of-hours rota. This will equate to working one weekend on-call and one Saturday morning at nearby Thetford surgery; one of each in a 11–12 week cycle. Every three weeks, you will work one on-call evening. After 10pm Monday-Thursday, from 6pm on Friday, and from 5pm on Saturday/Sundays the teams out-of-hours work goes to a local out-of-hours provider. So the on-call then is for inpatients only. Salary will be dependant on experience and you will be well reimbursed with extra pay for any out-of-hours work. Our client is based near Ipswich is a quaint Suffolk town just off the A12. The beautiful Suffolk coastal towns of Southwold, Aldeburgh, and Walberswick are just 20 minutes away. They are now looking for a Full Time Small Animal Registered Veterinary Nurse to join the team. The town is in a desirable location, with its boutique shops, cafes, and yacht harbour, is just 10 minutes away. The is a dual site practice both first opinion practice and you must be able to drive as you may need to provide cover at both locations. They have all the usual equipment and facilities including ultrasound and x-ray facilities, a dedicated dental theatre and onsite laboratory. They pride themselves on being a part of the community that they serve. They currently have 7 Veterinary Surgeons, 4 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 1 Student Nurse and 4 Veterinary Care Assistants. Amongst the Vets, they have 3 certificate holders in small animal practice, small animal surgery, and Ophthalmology. The role will include assisting the Veterinary Surgeons with daily surgical and medical diagnostics and procedures, monitoring anaesthesia, supporting and supervising Student Nurses and Veterinary Care Assistants, taking part in nurse clinics, patient care and supporting the customer care team. The rota will involve working 38 hours a week over 4 days from 8:00am – 6:30pm. There will be 1 in 4 Saturdays and no out-of-hours. They are looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse who is dedicated, forward-thinking and team orientated. Newly qualified candidates will be seriously considered too.
