Full Time Registered Veterinary Nurse - near Hereford

An exciting opportunity for a veterinary nurse to join our clients single site, small animal practice in beautiful Hereford. At the practice the team endeavor to set high standards and keep up with new developments to give the best possible patient care and excellent service to clients.

This is a nurse training practice and run a variety of nurse clinics including senior/puppy checks and weight management. There is a friendly and welcoming team with many long-standing nurses who began as volunteers and went on to train with them and who now hold senior positions. The clinic conduct many routine surgeries in house whilst working closely with the local Cats Protection Clinic and have a visiting orthopaedic specialist and ultrasonographer that attend the practice regularly. There are also vets with the team who are completing certificates in Cardiology, Surgery and Oncology. The practice has an in-house Idexx biochemistry and haematology analysers along with standard diagnostic laboratory equipment, digital x-ray, multi parameter anaesthetic monitoring machine, ultrasound and ECG. The nurses are involved in all aspects of veterinary nursing work including; nurse clinics, anaesthetic monitoring, x-rays, in-patient care and laboratory work.

The role consists of a 37.5hour week over 5 days with a 1:5 on call weekend rota and 1 night per week. The shift patterns vary between 7.30am and 7pm. You also receive a half day on the Friday following from your weekend on call to allow for a longer weekend. You must be an effective communicator, enthusiastic and motivated with the passion and commitment to drive the practice forward and work within the team of 9 qualified RVN's, 1 SVN's and 1 ANA. To be successful in this role you will need to be a qualified RVN, be motivated, flexible, able to work autonomously and have great communication skills. The ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment and prioritise workloads is essential. You must also be able to work well within a close team.
