Full Time Registered Veterinary Nurse - near Chatham

Julie Powell
Our client’s clinic is based near Chatham and are looking for a full time Registered Veterinary Nurse to join their team.

The practice is well equipped, including digital x-ray, consult rooms, separate kennels, cattery, prep and theatre. The practice is conveniently located just off the M25 and is easily commutable from London.

The friendly team consists of 5 Vets and 4 Nurses who are supported by the team of wonderfully efficient receptionists. The clinic has an established client base and the team are passionate about providing gold standard care to clients and their pets. Our client thinks that their Registered Veterinary Nurses are the absolute backbone of the practice and generally have a hand in most areas day to day which includes; carrying out schedule 3 procedures (subject to appropriate training), anaesthesia monitoring, scrubbing in, looking after inpatient care, carrying out various types of nurse clinics, completing laboratory duties and much more. The Registered Veterinary Nurses need to ensure that patient care meets the required high standard that is expected from the nursing team. There will also be some reception duties such as: taking telephone calls/inpatient enquiries, stock control and ordering and unpacking orders.

In return there is real scope for progression within the clinic and there is an opportunity to become a clinical coach in the future. You will be supporting the Head Nurse in the supervision/training of Student Veterinary Nurses & Animal Nursing Assistants when on shift and maintaining the highest level of cleanliness throughout the practice by upholding the practice’ infection control procedures.

This is a varied role, so our Registered Veterinary Nurses typically work 40 hours per week across 5 days, consisting of either an early shift (8:00 am to 4.30 pm) or a late (11:00 am to 7.30 pm). The Nurses also work their fair share of Saturday shifts on a rota basis and in turn receive time off the following week. No out of hours as that is looked after by our local Vets Now clinic.

You will have excellent communication skills and be a team player. You will be outgoing, calm, positive and be passionate about providing excellent care to clients and their pets and be RCVS registered.
