Our client based in Dartford is looking for an enthusiastic and friendly Registered Veterinary Nurse to join them.

The client is passionate about their team and believes Veterinary Nurses are the absolute back bone of the practice. The nurses generally have a hand in most areas’ day to day, including carrying out schedule 3 procedures, anaesthesia monitoring, scrubbing in, looking after the inpatient care, carrying out various types of nurse clinics and completing laboratory duties. They pride themselves on offering high quality vet care at prices affordable to all. The practice is well equipped including digital x-ray, consult rooms, separate kennels, cattery, prep and theatre. The rota allows exposure to interesting and varied cases. The practice is conveniently located just off the M25 and is easily commutable from London.

The friendly team consists of 5 Vets and 4 Nurses who are supported by wonderfully efficient receptionists. The clinic has an established client base and the team are passionate about providing gold standard care to clients and their pets.

There will also be some reception duties such as: taking telephone calls/inpatient enquiries and stock control: ordering and unpacking orders. You will be supporting the Head Nurse in the supervision/training of SVNs & ANAs when on shift, maintaining the highest level of cleanliness throughout the practice by upholding the practice’ infection control procedures.

The role is full time for 40 hours per week in 5 days, consisting of either an early shift (8:00am to 4.30pm) or a late (11:00am to 7.30pm). The position will also include Saturdays on a rota and in turn you will receive time off the following week. However, there may be a degree of flexibility for the right candidate. No OOH as that is looked after by Vets Now. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and be a team player. You will be outgoing, calm and positive and be passionate about providing excellent care. The candidate must be RCVS registered.

Our client is a busy, well-equipped small animal clinic in Kent. The Ashford site benefits from an onsite CT scanner and is able to offer laparoscopic procedures. Ashford is ideally situated for links to London and the continent and only 20 minutes from the beautiful city of Canterbury. There are 10 vets across the three sites, supported by 14 RVNs, three SVNs, kennel assistants and a dispensing assistant as well as an experienced and friendly reception team. The addition of peripatetic vets in ophthalmology, orthopaedics and cardiac ultrasound further enhances their services and many of the clinical staff are studying for certificates in imaging, internal medicine, anaesthesia and ECC. This is a supportive and encouraging team to work amongst and truly care about the welfare of one another. The team like to support charity events, with their last event raising money for medical detection dogs. Currently the nurses perform admits for procedures and discharges, nail clips, anal glands, weight checks to dispense/apply flea and worm treatment, post op checks, suture removals, weight clinics, dematts, routine bandage changes and phlebotomy. Just recently the qualified nurses have started doing Librela, Solensia, Cytopoint, Immunotherapy injections and 2nd vaccinations under the guidance of a veterinary surgeon. They are looking for a nurse to continue this and establish more complex clinics including geriatrics, diabetic and renal and other chronic illness. The role is full time with working hours of 9:00 am- 17:30 pm Monday to Friday with a half-hour unpaid break. There are no weekends or OOH involved. The salary for the role is up to 25,000 per annum depending on experience. You will be a passionate and enthusiastic RVN with some post-qualification experience and a passion for the development, implementation and delivery of nurse clinics. The right RVN will have to be client-focused with excellent communication skills and bedside manner. This brand new, stunning new build practice on the Kent coast with up-to-date facilities which include ultrasound, 2 x capnography, dental x-rays. They are now looking for a Full Time Registered Veterinary Nurse to join them. The practice has 4 Veterinary Surgeons with 26 years’ experience between them (3.25 FTE). They have 7 nurses; 6 Registered Veterinary Nurses and 1 student, all are passionate about their work, have a wealth of experience, and run their own consults. They have 4 receptionists (3 of them have been with them forever). They know most of the clients and have a great rapport with them. There are 2 practice managers who are happy to arrange your referrals, fill out your insurance forms, and generally make your life as easy as they can. They have visiting specialists in the practice for orthopedics and heart problems. The nurses have their own consult room from which they run successful nurse clinics. They are close to the highspeed link to London and the Channel Tunnel is on the doorstep. The best of both worlds, we are close to the sea and the North Downs. The successful applicant will assist the Veterinary Surgeon with the day-to-day running of a busy Veterinary practice and have great clinical exposure during their varied working day. The current rota is 4 days one week and 4.5 the next, working a 39-hour week. Saturday mornings 2:6 and work over the hours of 8:30 am to 13:30 pm. There are no out of hours for this position. The client are open to all levels of experience, due to being able to support all applicants – however, you must be a qualified RVN. They ask that you have a committed approach to your work accompanied by a positive can-do attitude. You must be a great communicator and team player with an excellent bedside manner.
