Our client is a busy small animal only, multibranch practice in the heart of Lancashire. They are looking for a full time small animal vet to join their team. The group has 16 branches which are either consulting only or have operating facilities. They have a large Vet team with a mixture of new graduates and experienced clinicians. They actively encourage certificate study and currently have certificate holders in Surgery, Ophthalmology, Internal Medicine and Dermatology. The practice has an in-house CT, ultrasound, ECG, endoscopy and extensive in-house laboratory. All surgical branches have access to Idexx machines. This is a full time role, initially based at any of the branches on a rota basis, with allocated surgical time at either one of the surgical branches or the main hospital. The working week is 5 days, and the day is generally 09:30-18:00. The OOH's rota is one week night 1 in 12 and weekends are 1 in 4. For the right candidate, who can mentor, the group can offer a second on call rota which is 1 in 4 day time weekend working. If you are on the first call weekend rota you would receive time off in lieu the week before and after. An interest in consulting and high levels of client care are a must. My client are a group of four veterinary surgeries based in the Preston, Blackpool and Lytham areas. Due to expansion they are looking for a full time vet to be based in their Blackpool branch. Ideally this will be Lead vet role, but they will also be interested to speak to good GP vets too, you will be happy to mentor the lesser experienced vets, but the practice is state of the art, with Digital X-Ray Ultrasound, Capnography etc and has the facility to carry out orthopedics onsite with the senior surgeon there being happy to pass on his knowledge and train someone to carry out more complex orthopedics and soft tissue surgeries, so this would suit a vet who is looking to develop their skills on their surgery side. These would then be shared across all four practices to give a good caseload for someone seeking to study for certification in this area. Most importantly you will be a team player and have great people skills. This is purely a clinical role with no need for anyone to participate in the managerial side of things, so is great for someone who is keen to spend their time between mentoring and their own personal development The practice runs their own Out of Hours service at their Preston Hospital, so this offers a fluent transition to both clients and vets, who are able to transfer patients without the need to change vets. However, there are NO OOH's for this role. The week is worked over 4 days with time off for weekends which are worked on a shared rota of 1:4 A good level of salary is on offer up to 62k with a relocation package considered.
