Full Time Farm Vet - near Brighton

Julie Powell
Our client has a large, mixed practice with dedicated small animal, farm & equine departments. They are now looking for a Full Time Farm Vet to join them.

They are a progressive, RCVS accredited practice with a full-time laboratory technician providing an “in house” diagnostics service to provide an exceptional offering for clients. They are located in a vibrant, historic market town, just 10 miles from Brighton and close transport links to London.

The farm team consists of 8 Vets, 2 TB Testers and 3 support staff. They are a friendly and diverse team, with several of them having been here for many years. This is an opportunity to live in a beautiful area in the South Downs with great transport links. CPD is encouraged and funded with additional study time offered for those working towards certificates. There is an open and supportive culture in practice and truly value the skills and company of all on the team.

The role is offering a core blend of dairy, beef, sheep, smallholder and gamebird work. Services offered by the practice include Flock Health Club, Suckler Package, Beef AI service, DairyCo Mastitis Control Plan, bull and ram fertility testing, Interherd+, and Advanced Sheep Breeding services performing laparoscopic AI and ET. They operate an equally shared rota with 1st and 2nd on-call weekend rota during busy spring and autumn calving periods, and currently 1:6 weekend rota the remainder of the year and one weeknight on-call. Generous lieu time pre-and post-weekend and bonus schemes are a feature of our OOH rota.

They are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic vet, with flexibility for the role to be adapted to your level of experience. Previous farm animal experience is preferred, some practical experience (either equine or small animal) post qualifying is needed. All applications would be very well supported throughout their progression by certificate holders with a wealth of training experience. You will need to be an avid team player, have a positive can-do attitude.
