Full Time Experienced Small Animal Vet - 15 minutes drive South of Oxford

Our client provides a 24/7 individually tailored care to their patients and pride themselves on their relationships with their clients and valuing their team. They have 4 branches based in Southern Oxfordshire with the main branch providing OOH service by a dedicated night team. They are well equipped with in house Idexx lab, x-ray, ultrasound and endoscope all come as standard.

The team has excellent nurses and ANAs who support the vets and they are all here to help you find your feet. They foster an open forum policy to discuss cases and work them up to a high standard.
The ideal candidate should be the sort of Veterinary Surgeon that likes to see cases all the way through, to build bonds with your clients and enjoy working with a vibrant and open team. The role involves a 4 day week with approximately 1 full weekend (days) and 1 full Saturday (day) in 7 a week cycle. Client, pet and staff experience are all absolutely key and the client is looking for a vet who also holds true to these values. The role will include work at one of the local branches.

Our clients Hospital is located in the historic market town in Oxfordshire and is surrounded by the beautiful countryside of the Chiltern Hills. The clinic is within easy travelling distance to London and Oxford. The area has excellent schooling and great for outdoor pursuits. The hospital provides excellent facilities including dental x-ray, in-house laboratory, endoscopy, ultrasound, digital x-ray, separate dog and cat and isolation wards to name a few. They are staffed by a friendly, forward -thinking and supportive team of Vets, nurses and auxiliary nurses. They are looking to improve their quality of work-life balance. There is a varied, challenging and rewarding caseload for those who wish to take on further qualifications and support for those less experienced from within the excellent team of Vets. The Vets are all team players and delight in helping each other with cases. The team is currently made up of 7 full time vets, 6 full time RVNs, 3 VCAs and 3 SVNs. They have 2 medicine certificate holders. They are involved in supporting and sponsoring local events and have been involved in fund-raising charity events. They are currently planning their fund-raising activity for this year. The team also regularly meets up for social occasions. Staff welfare is something that’s extremely important to them, all staff members have access to a dedicated mental health first aider that works on shift. There’s always someone to have a coffee and a chat with, especially on the tougher days. They are now looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to join the dedicated and supportive team. Work begins at 8.30am and involves both consulting with clients and their pets and operating in the surgical theatre. Vets are encouraged to work up their cases to a high level. Finish times are either 5,6, or 7pm. The Vets work a four-day week which allows time to balance the interests of clinical work with study, outdoor pursuits or relaxation. There’s a shared Saturday rota (currently 1:5), Saturday shifts are 9am – 1pm. The client is also open to consider those candidates looking for a part time role. Salary range of 29,000 - 55,000 depending on experience. The practice will, if required, be able to provide accommodation on site. This is a recently refurbished 5 bedroom house that the practice own, it has all amenities within walking distance plus private parking. Due to the clients hospital status and varied case load, they are keen to support someone with specialist interests. Our client in Oxfordshire have a vacancy for a small animal veterinary surgeon, between 18-24 hours per week. They can be flexible over days/times and would welcome a discussion. Whilst there aren't lots of periods of sole charge, the practice is busy so this role would suit someone who is comfortable with routine surgical and medical cases. There are many opportunities for candidates to improve on their skill levels and experiences working alongside certificate holders. The practice itself is a well equipped first opinion practice giving candidates the opportunity work up cases to a good standard. They also have access to a hospital for referrals where required. They are equipped with ultrasound, diathermy, caponography, full lab, multi parameter monitors and digital X-rays. Our client is a RCVS Accredited Small Animal Hospital, which has been caring for pets since 1993. They are now looking for a Full Time Registered Veterinary Nurse to join the team. The surgeries have been designed to provide the highest quality of care using the latest technology for diagnosis and treatment and they have purpose-built facilities across their sites, including Digital x-ray, Idexx diagnostic machines, dental suite, and modern anesthetic monitoring equipment. They have on-site parking available for clients at both sires, with disabled access to waiting rooms and consulting areas. The surgeries are air-conditioned, and they have separate dog and cat areas so that the patient environment remains calm. Many of the clients come from nearby towns and villages. Between the two sites, there are 10 FTE vets; 18 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 2 Student Veterinary Nurses and 12 Support staff. You would be working alongside 12 experienced and professional nurses, as part of a fast-growing practice that strives to deliver excellence in customer service as well as gold standard veterinary care. The vets rely implicitly on the nurses to support them, often asking them to draw blood, take x-rays, and much more. Our client is a single site small animal first opinion practice in the town of Banbury who are looking for a full or part time Small Animal Vet to join them. The practice is only 55 minutes from the centre of London by train and located midway between Oxford and Stratford-upon-Avon. The team are made up of 6-vets, working with an experienced support staff team including 6 RVN’s. The spacious, purpose-designed practice is fully equipped. Our client in the Oxford area have a vacancy for a vet with some experience to join their 3 vet team. There is a limited amount of sole charge so vets should be happy with some routine procedures and medical cases. On the occasions of sole charge, procedures will only be booked that the incoming vet is comfortable with. Our client located between Oxford and Swindon are looking for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years UK practice experience, and will undertake the general running of this surgery, getting to know the clients and their pets, providing excellent client care and enjoy taking ownership of the surgery with the support of this friendly team. You will also enjoy sharing and encouraging ideas and contributing on a clinical, and sometimes administrative level. This branch practice has the benefit of its main sister surgery being approx. 10 miles away and having a further supportive team of vets, nurses, receptionists and administration along with the groups own dedicated out-of-hours team so you will not need to worry about being on call at night.
