Full or Part Time Veterinary Surgeon - near Bristol

Our client has a successful group of practices in the Bristol area and are looking for a full time Veterinary Surgeon to join them.

The main practice is equipped with digital radiography, ultrasound, dental machines, dental x-rays as well as the basic necessities for a first opinion practice. They have a visiting referral orthopaedic veterinary surgeons (RATA), who offer invaluable advice on all orthopaedic cases and visit to either undertake orthopaedic consults or surgeries. The clients are just as important to the team as and take pride in building strong relationships with clients and being part of their family as much as they are a part of practices. The practice see a very wide range of loyal clientele, many clients are insured which offers great opportunity to work to high standards.

Although having experience as a small animal vet is a bonus, it is more important that you fit in with the team. Many of the staff have been at the practice for a long time. There is a team of 5 veterinary surgeons, 8 registered veterinary nurses, 2 student nurses and 5 support staff. They all work together as one team – sharing opinions, discussing cases, teaching and communication is a really important part of the day to day.
The client can be flexible and is open to applications from full or part time Vets. There are no OOH’s, bank holiday’s or full weekends. The vets work 8.30am-6.30pm as a 4 day week. Weekends consist of Saturdays 8.30am-4pm only, on a 1 in 3 basis currently. The day is split, consult/surgery time evenly between vets during the week, so there will be a chance to operate at least 2 days a week. They offer 15-minute consultations minimum and extended consults for more complex cases, euthanasias or new pets/clients. The diary is organised with plenty of room for appointments, surgery, breaks, catch ups and time for phone calls.

We are seeking an enthusiastic first opinion veterinary surgeon who wants to provide high quality clinical care to all pets and an outstanding client experience. The new candidate also needs to be able to drive, as the role will be split between different practices throughout the week.
