Full or Part Time Small Animal Vet near Bingley

Julie Powell

Our client has three sites in West Yorkshire with one main hospital facility. They are now looking for a Full Time Small Animal Vet to join the team.

The hospital is a gold friendly cat practice and another branch has been awarded silver. They are a nurse training practice and part of the practice standards scheme with outstanding RCVS awards. All three sites are well-equipped with operating and lab facilities, including individual species wards (with additional exotics facilities at the Hospital). The new site where you will be based opened in December 2020 and boasts custom-built facilities including a new dental suite with CR xray. The clinical approach and practice ethos is to provide excellent staff, patient and client care through a culture of feedback and improvement with regular clinical and procedural audits involving the whole team.

The team is a good mix of full and part time vets with varied interests; the clinical director has particular expertise in cardiology and critical care and two vets are completing medical and surgical certificates at present. This six-vet team is complimented by the amazingly patient and invaluable receptionists and phenomenal nursing team; including diploma holders in emergency/critical care, exotics and feline behaviour.

The practice have a varied case load with most cases able to be worked up and treated by the team, including orthopaedics and cardiology and they see a good range of surgical cases. In addition, they have hospital facilities proving 24-hour nursing care, but no out of hours duties covered. As the client has a flexible working approach they are open to consider part time applications.

The ideal candidate will be a first opinion general practitioner with previous experience in a clinical setting including surgery. The ideal candidate would be comfortable working as part of a strong team, as well as confident enough to be sole charge for weekend clinics or occasional branch surgery work. The client expect a good team ethic and strong communication skills.
