Our clients Hospital is located in the historic market town in Oxfordshire and is surrounded by the beautiful countryside of the Chiltern Hills. The clinic is within easy travelling distance to London and Oxford. The area has excellent schooling and great for outdoor pursuits. The hospital provides excellent facilities including dental x-ray, in-house laboratory, endoscopy, ultrasound, digital x-ray, separate dog and cat and isolation wards to name a few. They are staffed by a friendly, forward -thinking and supportive team of Vets, nurses and auxiliary nurses. They are looking to improve their quality of work-life balance. There is a varied, challenging and rewarding caseload for those who wish to take on further qualifications and support for those less experienced from within the excellent team of Vets.

The Vets are all team players and delight in helping each other with cases. The team is currently made up of 7 full time vets, 6 full time RVNs, 3 VCAs and 3 SVNs. They have 2 medicine certificate holders. They are involved in supporting and sponsoring local events and have been involved in fund-raising charity events. They are currently planning their fund-raising activity for this year. The team also regularly meets up for social occasions. Staff welfare is something that’s extremely important to them, all staff members have access to a dedicated mental health first aider that works on shift. There’s always someone to have a coffee and a chat with, especially on the tougher days.

They are now looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to join the dedicated and supportive team. Work begins at 8.30am and involves both consulting with clients and their pets and operating in the surgical theatre. Vets are encouraged to work up their cases to a high level. Finish times are either 5,6, or 7pm. The Vets work a four-day week which allows time to balance the interests of clinical work with study, outdoor pursuits or relaxation. There’s a shared Saturday rota (currently 1:5), Saturday shifts are 9am – 1pm. The client is also open to consider those candidates looking for a part time role. Salary range of 29,000 - 55,000 depending on experience. The practice will, if required, be able to provide accommodation on site. This is a recently refurbished 5 bedroom house that the practice own, it has all amenities within walking distance plus private parking.

Due to the clients hospital status and varied case load, they are keen to support someone with specialist interests. In addition to your excellent clinical and communication skills, you will need to be a people oriented person, who is willing to support and guide your colleagues.
